I bought this to help protect my floor from my desk chair after I started to get lifting on my floor boards. It's inconvenient for the reasons that most desk chair mats are inconvenient (it's a limited amount of space, so you have to make sure that your chair is on it properly), but came flat (so it lies flat), looks inconspicuous, and my chair rolls well on and off of it. It does stick to the floor rather well, but I've noticed it start to move slightly over time, so it might be worth using some adhesive tape to keep it completely still. The size, shape, and weight are as advertised and very good. It seems to be holding its place on our home office floor rug. And, yes, it was thankfully shipped flat, not rolled or folded; much appreciated. However; the cardboard package on delivery was split open on one of the two longest sides. Furthermore, one of the corners of the piece was chipped off. There was no chip within the packaging, most likely indicating that the mat was chipped prior to shipping. This is probably best floor mat I have ever owned! It is definitely the most heavy-duty one! I have it on a medium-high pile carpet and get very little flex with it. The chair rolls easily and doesn't get "stuck" after sitting there for extended periods. I greatly appreciate the flat shipping after fighting with other mats trying to flatten them out. We'll have to see how the long-term reliability is but this will be my go-to replacement mat for others as they break for now. Read more

We have high pile, plush carpet in our home and our desk chair would not roll at all while you were seated. This Gorilla chair mat fixes that completely. The mat is much thicker than average chair mats and is very sturdy. We’ve used it for several weeks. The chair rolls well. The mat doesn’t dip or sag under our weight and there are no cracks or fractures from use. So five stars for functionality. Taking off a star because of delivery. This item doesn’t ship in a box. It just arrives as is - flat with a shipping label slapped on it. Our first one arrived with at least 2 corners broken. For some perplexing reason, Amazon required it to be boxed in order to return it. Which was a hassle given the size of the item. Also a headache that could have been avoided if it had arrived in a box that we could use to return it. The replacement also arrived with no box, but luckily had no damage. So whether you receive one that’s broken or not is left entirely up to the shipper and how much care they take with it. Read more
