I don't write reviews for free anymore but I thought with this one I could alleviate some confusion. You may be shopping for a golf hitting mat and noticing wall to wall awkward pictures, poorly photoshopped images that resemble people hitting golf balls that leave you wondering how much space an actual person swinging an actual club takes up, and they're punctuated with useless reviews like "I just got one for my husband and he thinks it will work great." Well, lady, luckily you're right. The GoSports elite 5' octagonal golf hitting mat is pro quality. High class, nice feeling turf that's deep enough to bury your thumb up to the first knuckle sits on a heavy 15mm mat, and it's plenty large enough to hit all the clubs from. (In fact, I chose this one because it had an actual picture of an actual golfer holding an actual driver standing on the mat, because it was a real concern that my heels would be hanging off or something.) There's 8 holes to place the tees, one at each corner, and they're placed well to swing a driver. With shorter clubs you can hit balls comfortably almost from the center. I saw that I could have easily spent twice what I did on a hit mat and I wonder how those could possibly be better, the turf on the GoSports is genuinely lux and forgiving. I can tell when I hit a thick shot but it doesn't bury my club and suddenly stop my swing like on the affordable courses I usually play. I've hit a couple hundred balls so far with zero issues and zero signs of wear, am looking forward to using this for a few years at least if I take care of it and keep it out of the weather. A+ PS it comes folded, there's a big red sign that says "crease will disappear!" Obviously people freak out about the crease so they put a big red sign to soothe your fears, and, yes, it does disappear completely in a few days. Update: Almost 2 years living outside under a tarp when I'm not using it- holding up extremely well. I'm just now starting to see some wear where my divot would be- but I've never rotated it once. I bought the 5x5 octagon elite series and was certainly skeptical with how low cost it was. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and hit a couple hundred maybe over a thousand balls by now. I have had no wear marks so far and I have to say the quality is impressive. For sure it is not the same quality as a 1,500$ mat however it works very well. It is super lightweight and moveable yet it won’t slide when you’re hitting. I have hit some fat shots and haven’t hurt myself or gotten sore so I feel that it absorbs those shots well. I also think it’s pretty responsive for the price point, obviously with good shots it feels good. I also think with slightly fat shots it resounds appropriately too it slows down the ball speed on my launch monitor but still allows the ball to fly as it would on real turf. I would definitely buy it again and honestly I’d pay more for it if I had too. Read more
After considering many other, significantly more expensive options, I chose this one and couldn't be happier. It feels very durable and well-made, with a nice feel. It hasn’t caused any stiffness or joint pain and has been incredibly helpful during practice. The 5x5 size provides plenty of hitting space, and you can rotate it as certain sections wear down. It also lays flat quickly after use. Highly recommend! Read more

I got this for my sim I built about 5 months ago. I wanted to wait to review until it went through heavy use to see if it holds up, it does. I would typically hit 4-5 days per week averaging 100-150 shots a day. I used it for 5 months and it's still in excellent shape. Rough estimate would be over 10,000 shots minimum. This is a high-quality mat that protects your wrists. I highly recommend getting the PRO version, as the bottom impact foam is much thicker than the standard. This is worth every bit of extra money as you don't want to injure your wrists. Hitting a bad chuck or taking a deep divot was very smooth and the mat handles it very well. Durability was great, there was a very subtle mat sink from your feet, but I would just rotate the mat and it would even itself out over time. This is completely normal for these mats, and maybe only a super expensive one does not have this slight issue. The artificial turf is very durable and holds in place well after tons of iron shots directly off the mat. It does come shipped folded in the center, but the crease will go away after a bit of use. Not an issue for me personally. Read more

Not going to beat this hitting mat for the price! Very thick and feels soft under your feet. No club bounce at all when you hit the mat which is common for these cheaper mats. Read more
