It absolutely added perked up my strands at the root, particularly at my crown, which on my head is the first place to go limp. It also kept my roots from becoming oily for several days without watching it. This is impressive considering I struggle with fine hair as well as hair loss. One important thing to note is that it does add a kind of residue to your roots that cannot be seen, but can be felt. I might describe it as a slightly tacky, thick powdery feel.
