I found these to be quite effective! The design ensures that hair is trapped. However, I also prefer an easy clean up. I prefer to remove hair and any other debris after each use to prevent build up. However, the hair often gets snagged and I have to rip it out. Ideally, I prefer stoppers with easier slip where it takes a brush of the hand to remove strands. Popped out designed are really good at this. As a result, I plan to only use these as a back up option. Read more

These drain strainers are perfect for my shower drains. A friend sent a few a couple of years ago and I just purchased new ones. They are only used on hair wash days which is a few times a week and they catch the strands from going down the drain. Mine seems fairly sturdy since it does not move around during the wash and I have a waterfall shower that head that stream directly on it and it’s a heavy stream and it still remains in place. Also, I don’t remove the hair until the strainer is dry which makes it easier than trying to remove while wet. This strainer has worked really well for myself and my son. We both have long curly hair since using these and I don’t have to worry about clogged drains from my hair washes like I did nun the past. I will continue to purchase and utilize these strainers and highly recommend. Read more

I used these in the showers as a hair catcher. I agree with another reviewer, these do an "ok job" of catching hair, but I feel they would do better if they sealed around the edge like a suction cup AND the edges lay flat. When the catcher is installed with the stumps/legs facing up, the outer edge's shape is slightly curve up. The curve up doesn't allow the hair to go over the edge to get caught in the stumps/legs. ( I guess it would go over the edge if there is slow drainage.) Some of the netted area to allow the water to drain is too wide to catch hair. Installation: There was no instructions as to which way to lay the catcher onto the drain. Should the stumps/legs be pointed down onto the tub or facing up towards the ceiling? I found facing up works best. Cleaning - not easy. The hair intertwining between the stumps/legs is hard to pull off, especially since the catcher doesn't catch most of the hair lost. I would not buy these again. Possible if this product's holes/netted area had smaller holes, it would be a better catcher. I wish I could find the catcher designed that was sold at a local vendor. The design has a round bump in the middle about 1" high that has small holes to drain and catch the hair. The flat circle around the bump is 1-2" wide. The flat surface stays in t's installed position allowing the hair to slide over it's edge to reach the round netted bump to stop the hair from going down the drain. These might work well for non-shower drains; I haven't tried using this product elsewhere in the house. Read more

I originally got these because I thought they were cuter than other options available. I really like the colors. And the silicon makes them easier to clean the hair out of them. They do move a little bit when water is sprayed directly on them, but not enough to allow room for hair to go down the drain. They are very easy to install and use, as you just have to set them over the drain you want to protect. So far, they seem to have prevented hair from going down the drain, which is why I wanted them in the first place. Overall, I think they are worth the price! Read more

In case you're stupid like me, I'll just inform you that these do NOT work for bathtub drains, the kind that come with a stopper. I don't know why I thought this would be flexible and sticky and seal itself around the bulky plug, but it did not lol. They are only designed to lie flat. But they do work great in my shower, which has a flat grate with holes in it. While not sticky, they do stay in place pretty well unless you bump them with your foot, and they're easy to clean the hair off after each shower. They seem sturdy too, I've been using the same one for months now and haven't needed to replace it, just rinse it off now and then in the sink. Read more
