Brings Back a Lot of Good Memories

Gotham Knights is a blast to play and brings back a lot of great memories while adding a few new ones as well. The games leans heavily into detective work and puzzles (with a few new mechanics) which was always one of the best parts of the Arkham games. Combat is pretty standard but still a lot of fun. I'm a huge Batman fan, but have to admit playing as Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and/or Red Hood is pretty sweet. It feels like you're playing a comic book and despite what other players are complaining about, the graphics are solid and I have had no issues with freezes or crashes. Guess people just need something to cry and complain about. If you've missed the Batman Arkham games I would highly recommend adding this to your collection. Read more

Good story, bad grappling hook

I think my general feelings on it, is it it’s a good story. Genuinely do like the story that they told. Wish it was a bit more obvious if certain missions would require certain characters. Or, if you really are supposed to try out each one a bit and then figure out who you want to players. But I did like that it’s pretty obvious there is a unique ending for each of the four characters, and I might try to get all four of them. I’ll probably do at least two on easier levels because I am a wuss and I don’t want to try that hard. Also did in fact guess a big part of it, because to me, it was incredibly obvious. The biggest criticism I have, is more in the mechanics over actual game. And I’m coming at this, having never played the Arkham games. Overall, very much enjoyed this game. Not as good as Spider-Man, but that’s a pretty high bar for this style of game in my opinion. Read more

Is the game terrible? No. The gameplay just doesn't live up to expectations. The best way I can describe how I feel about it is: you know those dreams most people have about not being able to move quickly or respond like you normally would? This is that game. The characters LOOK great. Their fighting ability is just disappointing. The story is great. The game is beautiful. But will I be playing this game multiple times? No. the only reason I continue with it is that I paid for it. If I lost this game I would not rush out to replace it. Average is a good description. Read more

They went from the quality of the Arkham series to this? slow pace, awful frame rate, bugs (like enemies "meditating" and not available to take down) etc... Not a good game, save your money. Read more
