I’m so happy with this scooter! My husband put it together in literally about 5 minutes—super simple and no frustration at all. The scooter feels sturdy, charges quickly, and has a nice smooth ride. The speed is perfect for kids (fast enough to be fun but still safe), and the throttle/brake setup is really easy for beginners. My kids love it and have been zipping around nonstop! The Gotrax GKS Mini is a really fun little scooter for kids. Setup was super quick, and my kid figured out how to ride it in minutes. It feels sturdy, the speed is just right (fast enough to be exciting but still safe), and the brakes work well. Battery life is fine for short rides around the neighborhood, though you’ll need to recharge after a few miles. The small wheels mean it’s best on smooth sidewalks, not rough ground. Overall, it’s a great starter scooter — safe, easy to use, and my kid absolutely loves it. I was searching for a budget electric scooter (had to buy two) when I stumbled onto these. They were priced just in my budget range and when they came in I was pleasantly surprised by the build. Really simple three step installation and you don’t need any tools they don’t already supply you. Four bolts to connect the front wheels to the deck and back wheels. Two nuts to tighten up the rod to the front wheels. Loosen four bolts and retighten them once you slot in the handle bars. It’s built solid. While I would have loved to have collapsed the handle bar down for storage I love how rigid and strong the whole scooter is built. Max speed on this thing is 7.5-8MPH on flat service. Just fast enough for kids to have fun but not crazy fast that you stress out on them crashing. I absolutely love their riding mechanism as well. Both the front and back “buttons” on the deck needs to be pressed on before the electronic boosting can take into effect. It’s really easy to learn and forces the rider to have both feet on the deck at all times. The moment one of their feet lets go of the buttons then the scooter automatically slows down and cuts off the electronic motors. The only thing that holds it back from being the perfect kid scooter is the mileage. About 4 miles-ish which is a decent 30-45minute ride. If it was 5-6 miles it would have been perfect. Oh the annoying beeping alert when the scooter is low on battery is another con. Wish there was a way to turn it off. Won't hold a charge, bought this for Christmas opened the 25th we have charged it everyday now and she has only used it 3 times for not even 20 minutes each time before it stops and dies and she just uses it like a regular scooter it actually goes faster when she just uses her foot then the electric part she barely moves. Waste of money item is clearly defective. Read more
Got this for our 8 (Almost 9) year old for Christmas and she loves it! It was easy to put together and charged easily too! You have to get it rolling before the motor kicks in which we like so it doesn’t take off if she accidentally touches the throttle on the handle. I feel like it is the perfect introduction to an electric scooter for a kid that wants one - we were not sure if our daughter could handle the speed and it was really easy for her to learn. Read more
