It's still GPX
I have never had a good experience with GPX products. They seem to make the best looking electronics for a very cheap price, but don't expect it to last long. I have had many GPX products over the years from boomboxes,walkmans, portable CD players to alarm clocks and now a DVD Player. I have vowed in the past to stay away from anything GPX and I would advise everyone to do the same. Sadly, I recieved this gem of a DVD player as a Christmas gift. I saw the new GPX logo and was hoping that after a few years they have changed.They haven't. It's stil the same old GPX electronic that you can pick up at your closest Walgreen's or Family Dollar. Worthless. As I said before, I recieved this on Christmas day, after watching 3 movies, I turned it back on New Year's Eve and was getting the "Wrong Disc" error message. I tried 3 discs, all with the same result (all 3 played perfectly on another DVD player). On New Years day, it kept saying "No Disc". Like I said, same old GPX. Here are the positives- * Sleek and compact design * very easy to hook up and use * very price savvy Negatives- * Expect this baby to go out at any time * It's compact design allows it to overheat if placed around other electronics * No pan & Scan or other option that you would expect from a standerd DVD player. Personally, GPX has done nothing it improve the quality of it's products. I would pay $500 for a Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba or Phillips before I would spend $20 on GPX. They are that bad. Hell, I'd even through RCA in there, because by they time you will burn through these, you'll spend that much in buying these just to last you a year. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! Read more
