This scale is very nice! The numbers are quite large and easy to read and the process by which one has to weigh themselves is very, very simple. The design is sleek, clean and fits in anywhere. All you have to do is step on the scale, look at your weight, step off and let the scale confirm/compute your actual weight. This process takes about three seconds. The batteries are 3 AAA batteries that fit into the back with a lb./kg. selector button nearby. The scale is light and easy to handle and stores easily. Probably it would be wise not to drop the item because it is made of GLASS (don't worry you will be safe from shattering as long as you do not weigh over 400 lbs.). I've been trying to keep an eye on my weight, so I decided to buy a scale. This works quickly and well, with accurate results. The only thing that makes me scratch my head is the "estimated weight function." You get on the scale, and it gives you a weight, which is supposedly an estimate, you step off, and then it verifies(?) the estimate. I don't know if this is a gimmick, but you would think that a digital scale wouldn't need to estimate before it gives an accurate response. This scale is exactly as it is represented in the photos and videos in the Amazon ad. This scale provides consistent and accurate results compared to our other closely fluctuating scale. This is the first scale that we have owned where we can actually take our weight multiple times in a row and it returns the exact same result. We have moved the scale to different locations, and still received the same readings for each member of my family. The digital display has large, thick, white numbers and is easy to read without leaning down to see it. It is simple, quick, and easy to use: step on, an orange circle quickly appears which indicates to step off the scale, then it calibrates and confirms your weight with the green checkmark circle. I ordered this scale as part of a promo, and then realized that a glass scale would probably arrive broken. This scale is thin and has a large flat, smooth platform with no design, texture, or ornamentation so a good fit for large or small feet and easy to clean. You don't have to tap it with your foot to wake it up, just get on it. I like that it verifies your weight once the indicator light tells you to step off of the scale. If you get back on it again, you will get the same weight. I replaced a Weight Watchers scale with this one because the former would give a different weight when getting on it several times close together, so we had to keep getting on and off of it until we got the same weight twice, and that's after tapping to wake it up. Some other well reviewed scales made a noise. This one is silent. The color is said to be silver, but more like nickel (not garish). Large numbers light up in the black background of the window, so easy to see. Last but not least to consider, the company supports a charity, and I feel they will stand behind their product.
