So for the last 20 years there has been a peculiar black plastic box living on a shelf in the hallway of my house. In that box was the remains of my husband's father....uh post cremation of course. I never got to meet the man before he began living in my house long enough that he should have been paying rent but I found myself spending too many nights and days what I should do with my late father-in-law. I kept hoping my husband would buy an urn for his father and at the very least exchange the boring plastic box for something else that didn't look like it should be in the recycling bin. He did not. Just when I was at my wits end, about to ask for a divorce due to this cremation box staring at me from the shelf, I saw this urn. Lightbulb! It was way cheaper than a couples therapist or my lawyers fees! So I proceeded to order it and surprise my husband with this new fabulous urn containing his father's ashes. He thanked me, albeit flatly. It was clear he didn't actually care about the urn or that I had taken on the task of moving his father's ashes to it. However, I chose to believe that deep down in his dead brown eyes he was jumping for joy and holding back grateful tears. Thanks to this urn our marriage is saved and my bank account is left intact! It's a nice metal urn. Was easy to funnel human remains into and the screw on top seals nicely so I know it's unlikely that my husband's cat will knock it over to use as a litter box or my son's will pour it out to make sand slime. This sounds a bit bizarre, but also sentimental: while we were shopping for a cremation urn for my wife's diseased mother, we were having a hard time deciding between a wooden "box" style and a metal "vase" style. And then, this product popped up on the Amazon Vine page. We felt that our mother's spirit guided us to this urn. We appreciate the seller making them available through Amazon Vine. Also, instead of one, we got two from the same seller, one red and one black, for both her parents. This item comes in perfect shape. The container design itself is simple yet elegant. The golden ring adds some color and details in a good way. The lid threads into the vase to secure itself in place. We plan to, when it's time, permanently seal the closure using epoxy glue to completely keep the moisture out. Again, a five-star product available on Vine at the right time. Read more
