I picked up Green Gobbler Enzyme Drain Cleaner because our kitchen sink was starting to smell a little funky and draining slower than normal. I didn’t want anything super harsh, so I liked that this uses enzymes instead of strong chemicals. It was really easy to use, just pour it in and let it do its thing. After a couple uses, the bad odor was basically gone and the drain definitely seemed to run smoother. It didn’t completely fix a heavy clog, but for grease buildup and smells, it worked better than I expected. I’m giving it 4 stars because it takes some patience and works best with regular use, not as an instant miracle fix. This was a stubborn clog in the kitchen sink. I used an extra long plunger to try to clear the drain. I could hear the water moving in the drain but it would not clear. After dumping 2 gallons of a similar product it still was not going away. So, there i was plunging my little heart out. I left and came back an hour later and the sink was clear. I turned on the water and sure enough, it stopped up again. I did that all day. It stunk up my whole apartment. It wasn't until the drain cleared enough to pour down a whole gallon and leave it overnight. Next morning the odor was gone and the drain clear. It made me think that this problem has been going on for awhile. I was really hopeful about this product after reading the description and seeing all the positive claims about breaking down grease, paper, fat, and oil in drains and septic systems. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing, and I cannot recommend it. After multiple uses over 3 days, I saw no improvement in my slow bathroom sink drain. The buildup and clog was still there. I even followed the instructions carefully—pouring in the recommended amount, letting it sit, and flushing with hot water—but the drain barely improved. One of the advertised benefits is controlling foul odors. In my case, the smell barely changed. My bathroom drain still emitted unpleasant odors, and the liquid itself has a slightly chemical smell that wasn’t pleasant to use. The gallon bottle seems impressive, but considering the lack of results, it feels like a waste of money. I used a decent amount on multiple drains, and still the issues persisted. The bottle is large and somewhat awkward to pour. I spilled a bit while trying to measure the recommended amount. For a product that claims to be safe and convenient, this was frustrating. Maybe if your drains are only very lightly clogged, you might see a minor difference. For any real hair, grease, fat, or paper buildup, this product does not seem strong enough. It failed at both its primary functions—cleaning drains and controlling odors. I expected an eco-friendly, enzymatic solution to be gentler than harsh chemicals but still effective. Bought this because I had 2 bathroom sinks where the overflow drains were partially clogged. Water would drain, but slowly and we would get a very nasty odor from them every time you drained the sink. The solution smells very nice, but I can't say it's working for my situation. I've been pouring some in every night before bed and running water through in the morning, but there is still debris in there along with the awful smell. This stuff probably works best on 100% clogs, where it can pool and do it's job. Read more

So far so good! No matter how much I cleaned out the tub drain the constant smell would drive me insane! This stuff worked in a day! We cleaned out the clog first but needed this stuff for the lingering smell. We put about 1 cup in and let sit overnight - make sure to shut the bathroom door if you have pets! Then the next day rinsed it down, and just put in a few ounces to further help it. Haven’t noticed a smell since! I am really quite impressed with this. Our house sat for almost a year during a remodel and the crust layer in the tank dried up and expanded. The exit pipe coming from the house more or less plugged up and we could not get the house a garden hose to get it fully unplugged so toilet paper would get bunched up and clog. We thought for sure that we would have to call someone to clear it out. This stuff took care of it in about 20 minutes and now it flows better than ever. I like that it is not only a cleaner but also treats the system. I also purchased the same brand for the monthly bacteria treatment. Nice to get this type of stuff on Amazon as you can easily review the order history. I will also not that there is no heavy chemical smell which is nice as some "Drain products" can cause harm to the natural balance of the septic system. Great product - I HIGHLY recommend it.
