Sad Panda 1980—December 30, 2019
If you have any worries or feel any trepidation about choosing this as your wastebasket of the future, you can File 13 those right now! This is one product that won’t waste your time. Let’s take a look at the three most-important qualities for wastebasket needs: sturdy, aesthetics, and value/quality. Sturdy? This baby’s sturdy enough for me to use as a weapon in my latest hardcore championship match (successful defense, btw) yet took—and gave!—a heck of a beating. Luckily this came as a two pack, since one now permanently features the facial impression of former number one contender Barry “the Hairy” Harrowitz. The second one has handled normal wear and tear just fine and has survived more than a few drops and accidental kicks. Aesthetics? Its a trash can. It’s not fugly, nor is it a color so brightly intense that I find myself prone to sudden, violent vomiting. I guess you could say it both encompasses retro mid-century-esque curves with a somewhat late 23rd century Roddenberry-inspired metallic weave to it. I’m saying it’ll look nice wherever you put it, whether it’s Don Draper’s office or Mr Spock’s personal quarters. Value/quality? I didn’t need a second mortgage to buy this. I didn’t need to choose between granny getting her insulin this month, or according this can. I found the price quite right, really, especially as there are two. The quality is very exquisite for a wastebasket. I detect notes of happy clouds and happy trees, along with rugged German efficiency. It may be just the MJ talking, but I think it’s a pretty cool wastebasket. It’s a good quality, definitely not garbage. All that to say this: if you think it’s the wastebasket of your dreams and don’t want to rip out your eyeballs at the sight of it (no judgement), then it’s worth it. Two pack. Sturdy, doesn’t feel cheaply made, and handles my trash in an acceptable manner. Read more

I'm not sure how one would rate a waste basket for a review. Hmm. It's the right color. It holds trash. What else could there be? I do get a kick out of how "sturdiness" and "durability" are two of the items I get to rate these on. Pro tip here: Don't use these waste baskets as stepping stools. That's probably not going to be a good idea. I needed four waste baskets largely because my old ones are from the 1980s. They are plastic waste baskets that doesn't quite come clean anymore, and I guess I figured it was time to replace them when I grabbed one and a piece of plastic just broke right off. I guess plastic gets brittle after a while? I purchased these because of the price. They ended up being the largest possible acceptable size. In fact, one didn't fit in the "old" location, so I had to make a new location for it. I ended up liking the new location better. I use the 10 gallon Kirkland waste basket liners, and they fit. Just barely. What else is there to say? I mean, I think you'll be okay as long as you don't use them as step stools. Read more

See update below: The cans were smashed in a way that would not allow them to be removed from each other. they're light, for the price its great, but since i cant use them, 1 star because ...well... i cant use them. I can say that if you get some that are NOT smashed in... they will hold up.... the smashed in ones cannot be pulled apart and really... that means its probably a good product. will update when the replacement order shows up. Until then, one start it is. Update: I got the replacements and yes, they arrived in good shape. The cans are pretty solidly built and are a good size to fit in a bathroom or under a desk. It is a stiff wire mesh so... clearly wouldnt work for a hair cutting joint, but its a great all around waste basket for around the house and worth the price for sure. Read more

I brought these for my bedroom and my son's bedroom. I read other reviews which said they were stuck together and it was hard pulling them apart. I was skeptical at first about buying them but decided to take a chance and the price was right. When they arrived I didn't have a problem pulling them apart but I could see why it might have been for others. They seem to be very sturdy and durable. I have had them for about a week. So far so good. Read more

They are decorative for any office. Hold a good amount for the average day's work. I believe with simple care, ie don't kick them around, you will enjoy these for years. I stumbled into one while carrying something. Took me about twenty minutes of fussing with it to re-align all of the mesh. unless you know exactly where it was crushed you cannot see it. Like I say, be as careful with them as any other office furniture and you should enjoy years of service. Great for the price. Read more

I really wanted something smaller than these but not so small that you couldn’t stick more than 2 paper towels in it. I also wanted mesh. Those few options actually made for slim pickings but still bought these. They are too big for my intended use, but I’ll make them work. They look nice and are decent quality for the price. Read more

This review is for the two squared cans. I love how spacious these are and they are so easy to clean since they are made of metal. I always use a plastic grocery bag to line my cans and was afraid these would be too big for that but luckily they aren't. The two that I received are both in flawless condition (no dents, loose soldering, etc.) and Amazon surprisingly did a good job of packing it with protective material so they wouldn't get damaged in shipping.
