I was on the edge about getting this, because I already have some larger electric screwdrivers that are great -- if you don't already have one, run out and get one! What differentiates the Grenpro from these screwdrivers is that it is sized for smaller items -- computers, cell phones, watches and the like. The screwdriver itself is small, like a big pen in size (see the photo), and it comes with a huge assortment of tiny bits suited to precision work. Everything -- almost -- fits in a pillar of sorts, which can be stored in a metal sleeve. It has a retracting arrangement -- push down on the top, and it pops out of the sleeve, making everything accessible -- but if you use it frequently, it may make sense just to leave it out on your bench. The screwdriver has a clear digital display, forward and reverse buttons, and a speed button that cycles through five speeds and when long pressed controls the light in front. If you've ever worked in a dark computer you know how useful an LED light can be! The screwdriver housing is metal rather than plastic, a nice touch, and is well finished. Charging is via a USB C socket on the back. The pillar also stows a pair of tweezers, a spudger, a bit extender, and a manual handle that accepts the bits for when the electric screwdriver is too big or you want the last word in manual control. It comes with a small magnetizer/demagnetizer for the bits, a nice feature, but unlike the other accessories, the magentizer doesn't stow away in the pillar. Finally, there's a short power cable that's pretty useless -- I think most people will end up using whatever generic cable is on their charger. At the current price, this isn't cheap, but I'd say it's a no brainer for someone who does a lot of work with the kind of small precision item for which it's designed. Whether it's worth it to someone who takes his laptop apart once a year is another question -- cool as it is, it's probably overkill for occasional use. But for techs and others who often find themselves replacing batteries, fixing cameras, or working with other precision gear, it's a well-designed tool that meets every expectation I can think of. Very compact kit. Love the rotating bit sections. It's like spinning the barrel of a revolver. Somehow very satisfying. With the slim design of the driver, you do lose a bit of torque with this one. It is more than sufficient for the delicate tasks associated with this size driver but just know you can fairly easily stop it by hand, especially at the lower settings. It is a hefty little kit, thanks to all the included bits. The way the case closes was a surprise. There is a large spring at the bottom, so you push down to lock it in and push down to disengage it (it pops up enough to grab and pull it out of the outer casing). Kinda neat. Aside from the torque, I didn't see any issues that need mentioning. This is a solid kit and while the whole thing is a bit much to carry on your person, the driver and a few of your most used bits will fit easily in your pocket without really being much of a bother. I think that is where this shines and consequently this will be with me wherever I go. I can't stop fixing or making stuff, so I am always in need of a pocket driver. It’s compact and pocket-friendly if you just bring the driver and a few bits, which makes it handy for quick, small fixes. Where it falls short is torque. The electric motor struggles with even moderately tight screws, such as motherboard standoffs or small case screws. For delicate electronics or precision devices, it performs fine, but if you plan on tackling more demanding tasks, you’ll still need a manual driver. The good news is that the kit includes a manual driver! The kit itself is well-made and feels premium, but performance-wise, it’s not powerful enough for anything beyond light-duty jobs.
