The "second piece" that can be elevated up over your nose and mouth is a nice feature, particularly given the perforations so as to improve "breathability" and reduce fogging. Its not perfect (a triangular piece that covers the nose but leaves the nostrils entirely open would be) but it beats the non-perforated types that produce both a much more wet (yuck, plus cold fast in the wind!) frontal covering due to more condensation from your breath. The length is sufficient as well and tucks under my shirt/base layer. Reasonably priced and does the job and is both of a decent weight and warmth while not being bulky, so if you wear a helmet while skiing it sill works. I like it. Read more

Very well made. I have spent a lot of time trying to find a balaclava that fits well and this product surprised me. It’s lined with fleece material and is very warm. I got it because I ride a motorcycle. With the temperatures being around freezing or lower this balaclava did the job. Well done!! Read more

This is by far the best balaclava I have owned. It has extended neck covering so you don't get drafts it's soft fleece on the inside yet stretchable spandex. The face mask portion with the ventilation is the game changer. You can lift the face mask up and down as you need it and with the ventilation holes in it if you have the mask up you don't fall up your glasses or fog up your face. It wasn't that expensive but I'm outside quite a bit and it's been especially cold this winter should have bought this a few months ago. Read more
Used this for a cold run in the snow recently. Temps were in the 20s with wind chill in the low teens or upper singles, with blowing snow. I was a little concerned that the breathing holes weren't low enough to facilitate heavy breathing through the mouth, but it worked really well. Kept my head and face warm.
