I tried other tea from this brand before that I liked. This was my first time trying matcha in a bag form mixed with green tea leaves. The tea came nicely packaged and had a plastic safety wrapping. There are 20 individually sealed tea bags included. Each bag is in a foil pouch. There are also some fun and cute tea holders included that are meant to be placed on the cup to hold the end of the tea bag. They are packaged separately in a clear pouch and are made of cardboard. The box doesn't mention the optimal brewing temperature (other than "hot" water) so I experimented with different temperature settings. I'd say this tea definitely tastes better when the temperature is not insanely hot (around 140-160 degrees). I feel like this temperature really brings out the flavor and nuances of the tea. The taste itself is grassy and mild, similar to green tea. It does not taste bitter and is both pleasant and satisfying to drink. It is also refreshing after it has completely cooled down. I like that it has a high caffeine content, which makes it a great coffee alternative. I do think it is a bit pricey but other than that, it is a good quality bagged green matcha tea. Read more

I like really enjoy green tea and matcha but I didn't know what to expect with this high caffeine tea. I limit my caffeine intake so it's important for me to know how much is in a product. There is no specific information about how many milligrams are in this. It only rates it 4 out 5 leaves and slightly less than medium on a scale that's on the packaging. It gave me a nice afternoon boost without any jittery feelings. I did slip it slow though. I brewed this like a regular cup of tea. It has a cute tea bag holder that can be placed on the rim of your cup, but I didn't use it. I really didn't need to, the string and tab are long enough and strong enough. These are individually sealed tea bags, which is nice. The matcha powder puffs out when each bag is opened though, that's something to watch for. Overall, it has a smooth, pleasant taste and I didn't have to use any sugar or sweetener with this. Read more
I've tried this a few times now. It's not bad. The green tea is overpowering and lacks a matcha flavour. It's pleasant, not strong, but lacks that matcha flavour that I really expected from it. Bit expensive for what you get. Read more
This Japanese green tea with matcha is quite the refreshing morning pick-me-up. Upon opening each pouch, you will smell the matcha and green tea aroma as well as see some matcha powder in the packet. I steeped one tea bag in around 6 ounces of water that I heated to 176 degrees Fahrenheit. It just says hot water on the box and this is around the temperature I usually use for matcha and green teas to prevent scorching or bitter flavors. I let it steep for around 3 minutes before removing the tea bag. The color was a bright yellow-green with a fresh, vegetal, green tea aroma. The taste was quite pleasant as well. I made it into a treat with some sugar and also tried it with about 2 ounces of milk to make milk tea. All ways were delicious! As a bonus, the box comes with three cute cardboard bag string holders. I’m not a coffee drinker, so for a pick me up I’ll drink a strong (caffeinated) tea. That’s what caught my eye with this one. My wife always gets green teas that have no caffeine. I generally go for things like English breakfast teas. The only time I drink green tea is on occasion when I’m in a Japanese restaurant. This tea has a very pleasant, Japanese restaurant flavor. I make my teas in a large mug, but I let it steep for a longer time to make the taste as strong as I can get it with this much water added. It tastes good. My next cup will be a smaller one so I can really get the full flavor. The included bag holders are cute enough, but I have no need for them. The only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is the price. I don’t think there’s a lot of value here for several times the cost of average green tea. As much as I like it, I feel it is cost prohibitive. Read more

I think these are like half tea and half matcha? I didn't open the bags to check or anything but they're a little bit dusty so there's matcha in there for sure. They're good tea bags, much easier to use than making matcha the proper way, although you don't get the same mouth feel as you would frothing a cup of matcha, if you really just want a good cup of green tea, this's as easy as any other tea bag. Gya Tea Co Matcha Green Tea Bags Bulk (20 Bags) is nicely packaged. The well-made green box which holds the product is wrapped in tight plastic. Each teabag is in individual foil wrapper. The green tea with matcha is in nice wrappings with secure strings. To boot, the tea comes with adorable thick dye-cut paper tea string holders which sit on edge of cup. The dye-cut creatures are in clear plastic wrapped. Opening the foil wrapper brings a wonderful smell of the tea! Pouring hot water over the tea was olfaction pleasant too. Sharing the smell, the decorative elements (dye-cuts), and tea with a friend was a happy experience besides being a tasteful one. I have never tried matcha with green tea before. I like the combination. Read more
