This arrived in very bulk style packaging. It was simply a plain brown cardboard box with a small barcode label used for inventory control. Inside the box, the stand was sealed in a clear plastic bag along with printed instructions and two small wrenches. Nothing fancy, but everything arrived protected and undamaged. The instructions focus mostly on how and where to apply the included foam pads. The pads were already installed from the factory, but the manual was still useful because it clearly explains how to tighten and loosen the hardware. It makes a point of explaining that adjustments need to be made evenly on both sides of each joint, which is important for maintaining balance and friction. I also appreciated the attention to detail with pad placement. Pads are installed not only at the contact points for the device itself, but also where the arms fold down and touch the bottom plate, which helps prevent metal to metal contact during adjustment or storage. In use, I have found that if you plan to do much typing or touchpad work while the laptop is elevated, it is best to find your preferred position first and then tighten everything down firmly. Once tightened properly, it stays in place. This is less critical if you are only occasionally interacting with a touchscreen tablet or portable monitor. The stand uses a simple friction based design without detents. Washers are installed at the joints, so there should not be an issue with the softer aluminum wearing excessively or one part digging into another over time. The ventilation cutouts are a nice touch, although they are not spaced in a way that would allow them to double as VESA mounting holes. The aluminum is fairly soft, so adding custom mounting holes should be easy for many home enthusiasts. Overall, I am impressed by how simple and clean the design is. There is no unnecessary branding or logos anywhere on the stand, which I appreciate. It is not the cheapest option available, but at around $34 USD, I think it is a very good value. Unless the aluminum turns out to be brittle over the long term, this stand should last a very long time and even longer if you are willing to replace the nuts, bolts, or washers once they eventually reach the end of their duty cycle. Laptop stands are a category where quality variance between budget and mid-range options is extremely noticeable, and this H&C aluminum stand falls solidly on the quality end of that spectrum. The all-aluminum construction immediately sets it apart from plastic competitors, both in terms of feel and functional durability. The stand folds completely flat for transport and deploys in seconds. The hinge mechanism is smooth and locks positively at each angle increment, which is important because a stand that creeps or shifts during typing creates constant frustration. This one holds its set angle firmly even when typing aggressively on a laptop placed directly on the stand. I tested at multiple height positions and the stability was consistent across all of them. Height and angle adjustability cover a meaningful range that works for both desk use in a standard seated position and lower configurations for laptop-to-external-monitor workflows. The rubber feet on the base prevent desk surface slipping effectively, and the rubber contact pads where the laptop rests prevent scratching the bottom of the laptop while also adding grip to prevent the laptop from sliding forward during use. The ventilated design with the open aluminum frame underneath the laptop noticeably helps with thermal management. Laptops placed flat on a desk often restrict airflow to the bottom intake vents, but this stand creates several centimeters of clearance that allows free air circulation. During extended tasks I noticed the laptop running meaningfully cooler with the stand versus flat surface use. Portability is genuine with this stand. It fits easily into a laptop bag alongside the computer, adds minimal weight, and the folded profile is thin enough that it does not create packing problems. For anyone working with a laptop at a desk regularly, the ergonomic improvement from raising the screen to eye level is significant, and this stand provides that benefit in a package that is durable, stable, and portable. The silver aluminum finish also looks professional in any workspace setting. Read more

I picked up the H&C aluminum laptop stand for my home office, and it’s been a huge improvement for my setup. The stand feels solid and stable, even with my heavier laptop, and the foldable design makes it easy to store or carry when needed. I like that it’s adjustable—raising my notebook to eye level has really helped with posture and reduced neck strain during long work sessions. The ventilated design keeps my laptop cooler than just resting it on the desk, and the silver finish looks clean and professional. It works with a wide range of laptop sizes, from 11” to 17”, so it’s versatile for different devices. Overall, it’s a well-built, practical stand that makes working at a desk more comfortable and organized. Read more

This stand does a nice job of holding a laptop on a desk. The stand is lightweight but solid, the range of adjustments is reasonable (from barely off of the table to 6+"), and the laptop feels pretty secure on the stand. The hinges are tight - it takes a little force to adjust the stand - but that is good as it should make it more stable and sturdy over time. I won't be moving it regularly, that might be more of an issue if you are carrying it around with you. I appreciate the metal look, it matches the laptop I have well. And it is nice that it leaves space underneath the laptop to open up the feel of the desk. One note - you can adjust this past the point where gravity will take over and cause tipping. Use common sense, and check that the whole thing is stable before trusting your laptop to it. For $20 at the time of review, it is reasonably priced for a good stand. I like it. Read more
