I’ve been using this hair texture powder for styling, and it’s quickly become one of my go-to products. A small amount at the roots instantly adds volume and texture without making my hair feel stiff or sticky. I really like the matte finish, it looks natural and clean, not overstyled. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and doesn’t leave any residue, even after a full day. This worked okay for texture, but it’s almost more like a dry shampoo powder. It didn’t seem to offer a lot of hold, but it was great at absorbing oil/making my hair appear cleaner. In fact, it worked exactly like dry shampoo, including making my hair staticky. That’s okay with me (dry shampoo does that) but I wouldn’t call it a styling or texture powder. It didn’t really smell like much, and had the same “dulling” effect as most dry shampoos- absorbing oil makes hair less shiny. The ingredients contain aluminum and silica (like many dry shampoos). Powders tend to require less product than sprays, so this would last a long time- much longer than the spray-on kind, making it an a very affordable option at $7. My one complaint (besides it being labeled as texture when it’s not) was that it kind of made my scalp feel raw/scratched. I’ve made my own dry shampoo before, and all I can guess is that the silica they used was of the wrong grade/quality for this application. Silica is a desiccant, and also helps to keep products free-flowing, but it’s essentially glass- the wrong grade can scratch the skin. Because of that issue, I won’t be reordering this again, despite its affordability. I do have a sensitive scalp, and it might be fine for other people (or those only using it for mid-lengths- ends), but it’s not for me. Read more

This styling powder adds nice lift and a natural matte finish that helps hair look fuller without feeling heavy. It’s easy to apply—just sprinkle a bit at the roots and work it in—and it holds up well through the day. I like that it doesn’t leave any strong scent or greasy feel, and a small amount goes a long way. This is made in "P.R.C"- (People's Republic of China). The expiration date is 08/30/2029. It didn't have a protective seal around the box it came in, or on the inside of the bottle. You can either shake it directly on your head, or into your hands and apply it. It is quite messy though, and can get on your clothing. I didn't like the white cast it left in my hair, or the way it made my hair feel since it left my hair feeling quite dry. I also didn't notice any improvement in the texture or the volume of my hair when using this, so this is not something I will be back for. Read more

A very light shake will give you enough to start with and it has a very fine texture. It could probably also be somewhat effective as a dry shampoo because it did seem to refresh my end-of-day ponytail hair. But the static…wow. I’ve never had a product leave my hair with so much static. I had to lightly mist my hair afterwards to get it to go away but then when my hair dried, it was back! I’ll probably save this to use in the summer as I live in a humid climate, but in the winter, it’s way to dry for this much static. Read more
