This hair washing seat is helpful when you want to wash a child's hair. I think it is not quite restricted to age alone but weight and height. The listing says that it can hold 150 pounds and it does look quite sturdy. However, the user guide on the listing says Maximum Weight Recommendation 50 Pounds. I don't really want to risk it to see how much it can carry but it is relatively flat so it seems safe enough. A child can sit on it easily and feel pretty relaxed. It fits in my tub also, so I just use the handheld shower head and use it to wash hair. I don't need to use the included hose for the sink because it drains right into my tub. Alternatively, you can essentially wash hair anywhere and have it drain out via the included hose. So, you can have the child on the floor or even on a table to reduce back strain. I could also see this useful to wash an infant at bath time to just have the baby lie on top the seat as it has drainage holes. That way the baby is not submerged under water and you don't have to worry to hold the baby up. It folds up and gets put away with a pretty slim profile, but it still does take up space. Read more

This is a great idea for the child who hates to have their hair washed & when not in use, folds up nicely to store. It's fairly easy to assemble & gives you the option of using in the bathtub or other areas. I do wish that it had other uses besides just washing hair, which would make it a more practical purchase. Compared to similar products, it does seem to be a bit high priced. but worth it if it makes it easier to wash your child's hair. Read more
