Great War movie. I enjoyed it Read more
A really powerful and gritty war film, especially for the early time in which it was made. I don't mind the "N" word when used for comradre, which it's used here for...But the amount the white soldiers use it negatively is a bit off-putting. Still, I guess it's just staying "true to the time." Once the white soldiers see how brave and upfront the black soldiers are, it dies off almost entirely. I do believe this was the first large-scale attack that negro soldiers were permitted within, and they more than proved their bravery. The final war sequence will leave you in tears. Ranks up there with "Saving Private Ryan." Read more

I remember the first time seeing this movie in 1987 as being emotionally draining. My copy of the VHS version had been played many times and still had the same affect on me. This Blu-ray disc version exceeded my expectations. While watching it I felt as though I was there in the middle of the action. The fine acting, high definition visuals and DTS HD sound enabled me to vicariously experience each emotion, comradeship, gun shot, bomb blast, air craft flying over and injury. I got to know and care for not only the men of Bravo Company, but also for the people of the village. This graphic, gritty, raw and realistic film portrayal of one of many Viet Nam War stories still remains one of the best. The special feature "Hamburger Hill: The Appearance Of Reality" increased my appreciation for the extreme measures taken to make this film. The documentary "Medic In Vietnam" increased my understanding of the importance of medics to soldiers in any situation. Read more

This was a Tragic Event in Vietnam. WAR's like all WAR's are stupid and senseless. The Old men send Young Men and Women to fight and die for...well, you know. This series of engagements shows the futility of WAR. A nothing hill amongst a series of nothing hills we just gave back watered with the Blood of OUR Hero's. Fighting and Dying for EACHOTHER. Not some Politician 10,000 miles away. Buy it! Blu-ray made it better. Read more
