This is probably my 6th blender. Others broke within months or 1-2 years, being the reasons either liquids inside controls or motor burning. I have now this blender for about 6 years. Now buying a new jar (it is beginning to get cracked because we always put it in the dishwasher at max temp). But it takes anything. We do smoothies with 80% frozen food (20% liquid), and sometimes it stops because of overheating (somethimes even smelled burning...we are asking too much). But after a couple of minutes, returns working again. No issue where others just burn the motor. You may think is expensive for home, but multiply durability and you will realize you save a lot of time and money. Do not hesitate to spend those bucks in a quality product.
