Best coffee maker I've owned, if course not expert though. I've owned a few regular drip machines with the carafe and one keurig, the basic model that you can get at Walmart for $59. I loved that the keurig made my. Coffee right then and there when I wanted, AFTER it healed up and I refilled the water if it needed it. And I couldn't really. Choose the strength of the coffee without sacrificing. Size of my cup. I'm sire other models are different but I don't want to spend over $50 on a coffee maker so that was pushing it plus the pods are Expensive compared to bying it ground by the pound I absolutely love this machine though. Yes, there's a few minor annoyance, like any machine. Really it's just that I have the thing under my counter so to lift the lid all the way to clean or fill it up I have to pull it out from under. That doesn't really bother me at all though. That's really it for coma on it in my opinion though. It looks stylish. I love that the water tank comes out to fill, I love that the coffee reservoir has a basket. Handle to make it easier. To clean, I love how simple it is to work and program. I love that my coffee is waiting for me in the morning, no matter what. It comes out cooler than the keurig did but it's the perfect tempature in my opinion. I little hot at first but that's good. I read some reviews complaining about filling thick or large mugs? I haven't had am issues and I have some ridiculous mugs, some of which are LARGE..... And thick.. Haha So I don't think you have to worry. The drip trays a little small, but it does its job. It's also really awesome that there's an iced. Coffee feature. I worked at a Dublin donuts in high school so I know it's not made the Dr way and K love that this machine is able to make iced coffee. It really is so so. Please bjt stylish, and it does its job perfectly. Overall its the best machine I've ever owned or have seem put of friends and familys. I highly recommend! Read more

I love this coffee maker. I am not a fan of the K cup coffee, (it is little more than instant coffee as far as I'm concerned), but I do like that this coffee maker dispenses coffee directly into the cup. I have had four coffee dispensers but this one and the one I had prior are the best because they have a detachable cistern for the water, avoiding having to pour the water into the maker, thus avoiding spilled water. Now, the only thing I do not like about this coffee maker is the small filter over the dispenser port is not removable which makes the filter itself and the dispenser port difficult to clean, (hence, four stars instead of five for ease of cleaning). It is a minor thing but the inability to remove the filter was why I had to replace the old coffee maker. It developed a leak, a small one but still a nuisance. I suspected that either there was something blocking the port for closing completely or the gasket needed replacing. However, because of the permanent filter, I could not get into the port to check. The old one did last me over five years, and I have to admit, I often left coffee in the cistern overnight, which means I did not clean it as often as I should have, so I bear some of the blame for the dispenser port leaking. Anyway, if you like to be able to dispense coffee directly into the cup but find K cups tasteless like I do, I highly recommend this coffee maker. A great cup of coffee every time, just clean it every week or so and it should last for a long time. Read more

The Hamilton Beach Brew Station is my all-time favorite coffee machine. We have purchased four of them to date after trying a cuisine art unit that routinely leaked all over the counter. None of the four Hamilton Beach units ever leaked. The controls are easy to use, and the unit makes exactly the coffee we enjoy. We do occasionally clean the metal filter at the bottom of the Coffee Tank by pouring some “clean that pot” liquid and following the instructions – does a nice job. We also use filtered water along with both a metal filter and a paper filter in the Filter Basket for very consistent taste. Excellent job Hamilton Beach. Hamilton Beach Engineers get your act together: Unfortunately, there is a flaw in the design that causes unimaginable frustration and very limited product life of maybe a year. The flaw ruined the first three Brew Stations that we bought. We discovered that the Coffee Dispenser Bar would no longer release coffee from the Coffee Tank (see A in Frame 1 of the figure). Pushing that Bar should force the plastic Lever B (in Frame 2) toward the front of the unit. One can see, by tipping the Coffee Tank backward, the plastic Coffee Release Valve C (in Frame 3); the valve has a very stiff spring to prevent coffee from accidently dripping out. At first, it seems the lever B fails by no longer making contact with the valve but placing a pad between B and C does not help and eventually Lever B breaks away. We found that Lever B is quite flexible in a failed unit compared with a new unit. This means Lever B in a failed unit does not have the rigidity to open the Valve C to release the coffee. Moral of the Story: Hamilton Beach, please consider making the Lever B and associated components out of metal. A couple of events might be occurring (or both). First repeated pressure on the Lever B might fatigue the plastic. Second, the Lever B is next to the high temperature heating element and high temperature is well known to deteriorate the strength of plastic. After all these years, this defect cannot be a surprise to the company. Perhaps replacement parts are available. We only finally figured out the problem when we were in a position to compare failed and new units. Finally, we plan on returning the new unit that arrived today because the Lid hinge was apparently damaged during shipping – the plastic protrusion forming a hinge was broken off – the Lid flaps around. But again, we absolutely love the Hamilton Beach Brew Station but definitely not the nasty flaws. Update: Engineering and quality control departments need massive downsizing: The new Brew Station leaked all over the counter. First one with this flaw out of the 5 we tried. Surprising the Hamilton Beach lawyers don't start to worry. Read more
