Warm LEDs with exposed filaments in clear glass globes. Good quality, and a fair price for LEDs.
At 600 lumens of light output, these 6W LED bulbs are quite bright. One by itself is not enough for task lighting, but multiples in a chandelier or bathroom fixture puts out an amazing amount of light, which could be a problem for some people's preferences since they are not dimmable. They are quite a bit brighter than conventional 40W equivalent LED lightbulbs. The color renditioning is great and is consistent between bulbs. Faithfulness of color is important in areas where you want to know exactly what you are looking at. The bulbs are typical Edison screw base with a 3" globe. The glass is clear and the filaments are exposed. Despite the relative brightness of these 40W incandescent equivalents, these bulbs are not glaring to the naked eye. They are rated at 30,000 hours of use, which means you will probably break the glass before the LEDs go bad. After about 15,000 hours of use, these bulbs will start to slowly decrease in light output. At 3000K, they are in the very warm color temperature category, generally best suited to areas you want to be quiet and relaxing, such as bedrooms, living rooms, and hallways. I would use 4000K in a bathroom instead of these. 4000K is the average task lighting color temperature areas like desks and kitchen cooking areas. Read more
The lights are so much brighter
The bulbs replaced older LED bulbs above a mirror in our bathroom. The new bulbs are so much brighter than the old bulb even though they have the same 60W equivalent ratings. With hindsight I could have opted for the 40W equivalent. However, I am very pleased with the new bulbs even hough they show more of my wrinkles! Read more
