Not a miracle pill but effective
Ever since I'd started experiencing the classic yeast infection symptoms and gone to the doctor's office numerous times to no avail, I've tried various probiotic supplements for women's health, ranging from those found in Target and Ulta (Target generic acidophilus tablets as well as Good Girl Probiotics) to obscure brands on Amazon. What I like about Happy V the most compared to the others is that it has a relatively high amount of CFU's. 1 billion, 5 billion, and even 10 billion can seem like a lot but it did nothing to relieve my symptoms. One serving (two supplements per day) of Happy V contains a whopping 20 billion CFU's. Not only that, the ingredients list provides a very detailed breakdown of each probiotic component and the CFU content per component. The ingredients also don't contain unnecessary BS like biotin, which is horrible for people like me who have sensitive, acne-prone skin. Happy V never made me break out. Additionally I never noticed any bad side effects while taking Happy V - no extra gas, bloating, bathroom problems, headaches, etc. Emphasis on the "extra." While I do suffer from IBS (something I've been dealing with for years prior to the recurring yeast infections) and experience all of the above problems occasionally, while taking Happy V I did not notice an increase in these issues. I've been taking Happy V for months now and feel confident in continuing to take these supplements for the foreseeable future. Most importantly, while taking these supplements has not magically solved my yeast infection-like problems and made them go away, I do think that the severity of symptoms has diminished a bit. Taking Happy V, along with being more mindful of my female reproductive health through my lifestyle choices (eliminating scented feminine products and laundry detergent, wearing only cotton underwear, eating unsweetened green yogurt and kimchi, etc.) has been helpful in relieving symptoms for the past couple months. It's certainly been more effective than any other probiotic supplement out on the market that I've tried as well as the OTC creams from drug stores. Hopefully once I visit the gyno in a few days and can identify and treat the root issue of my health problems, my symptoms will go away for good. Even then, I might continue to take Happy V just as a precautionary measure. Happy V, please don't change the bottle design! I liked the blue bottle the best compared to the white just for aesthetic reasons. The supplement is on the larger size but goes down easily with water. There is no strong or off-putting taste. I've counted the supplements each time I purchased a bottle and was happy to find that none were missing. This is a great brand with quality, no-nonsense ingredients with clear visibility on the CFU count. Love it! Read more
