I am only 5 feet. Because of my size, I have to raise my seat to see over the steering wheel, and I have to move it forward to reach the pedals. What that means is that I cannot simply quickly glance at my dashboard to see how fast I'm going. (A note: I am driving a 2004 SUV. I do not have those fancy displays found on all newer cars.) The device easily plugs into my car radio (that is much newer than the car.) I don't even have to turn my head; I just glance over with my eyes. The numbers on the speedometer are large enough even for old eyes. I have no problem using it either day or night. Even on a sunny day, its brightness is quite good. It works by pinging satellites. Within a few seconds of driving, you are getting a reading. I leave it plugged into my radio at all times, even when the car is off. There is no drain on the battery. When my son drives my car, of course, he doesn't have to adjust his seat the way I do. He said he finds the device records speeds that match my car's speedometer. I'm not sure of its durability, but I'd gladly purchase another one when it does go belly-up. Read more
Not accurate , about 4-5 miles off. Confirmed with several gps apps on several different devices. Also the way it’s packaged is horrible. Basically shipped lose in a box so it’s rattling around in there with the cable which allowed it to get scratched up. Double sided tape for mounting also arrived stuck to the inside of the box which made it useless. Read more

I have installed these small digital speed displays on four vehicles - all except my BMW 528 with factory HUD. Installation is a breeze and you have control where it's located as long as the USB cable reaches. I choose a dash location centered above the steering wheel. I'm puzzled by complaints regarding accuracy since all four vehicles are different makes and years. None have failed to be spot on accurate. The displays with their large neon green numerals are clearly visible in all light conditions. The displays eliminate the need to remove focus on the road as you gaze at the instrument panel. This is an asset regardless of the vehicle and the only inexpensive fix I've found for lacking a HUD speedometer. Of course everyone has an opinion, but these devices are the best insurance for the money I've ever purchased. I'll probably buy another to use in rental vehicles while traveling. Also, I believe HUD should be a factory mandate just like seatbelts. It's too important for safety. Read more
