I have tried various extra capacity scales over the years and have always been disappointed. This scale weighs me easily (I am 500lbs) locks in immediately and gives consistent results. I highly recommend this scale if you are severely overweight and need an accurate accounting of your weight. Cost is $350-$400 but I have easily spent that much in scales that never worked. The Item is advertised as 600 lb capacity scale; however, in reading the description and the customers review -- it is stated that the scale has a 500 lb capacity!!! Which is it??? Before I buy I need to know what is the ACTUAL weight capacity. I need a scale that goes to 600 lbs with the BMI. Thank you. Read more
I have uploaded an unboxing video of this scale to YouTube which you can check out. I also uploaded to YouTube a 20 minute long video where i discuss the performance and cons and pros of this scale, which you can check out if you have the time. The scale is designed and built well and is quite accurate, fast and easy to use. The base is cast metal and very heavy, but the platform is plastic, albeit very thick and durable. If you're thinking of using this as portable scale you probably have no idea just how heavy it is. Might as well get the column version of this scale, which is identical ( except for the column ). I use this scale at home but i feel it would be a better fit in a hospital or gym. You should probably get something cheaper / lighter for home use, but that's not to knock this scale - it's just very heavy and expensive. Read more
