I am mostly pleased with this floor mat. It is very durable and the design and colors look very nice in my office. I used floor tape to stick it to my floor but the built in slip resistance is functionally sound even without the tape. My only complaint is in the flatness of the mat. It did not arrive rolled up like you would expect. It was instead folded. This caused very deep creases in the mat that made it have humps where it was folded for shipping. This severely impacted the overall functionality of the rug since it will not sit completely flat on the floor. I tried laying heavy objects and even steaming it but the crease is still there. The crease is large enough to cause my robot vacuum to get stuck occasionally. It's just strange because the mat itself seems fairly flexible but once the crease was set in it would come out. It's not a bad mat by any means but the fact that it wont sit completely flat even after owning it for a couple of months is disappointing. Read more

The color of the green pattern is a little more vividly green than I thought it was going to be. It looked more muted and more teal in the images on my screen than it does in real life. It's not a bad look, though, and the design doesn't actually look totally cheap. Like other reviewers have said, it does arrive folded so you do have to let it sit for a while for the creases to come out. I didn't do anything special besides laying it out flat, and after a few days most of those creases smoothed out on their own. The back has an almost sticky feeling that allows this rug to stay in place on both hard floors and carpet. The only issue is that it also seems to pick up grit and various debris that might be on the floor. The rug itself does stay in place and the edges don't flip up when you roll something across them. I'm not currently using it as a chair mat, but I can see that it would be a great option as one: it's much more inviting, comfortable, and visually interesting than your standard heavy plastic mats. It's obviously not overly plush, but it's soft and comfortable enough to be a fairly versatile rug. Right now I'm using it as a mat in front of my dog's kennel in her little corner of the room. Not for over carpet but got this pad as it looked like could use on my deck and prevent scratching or gouging of the wood by chairs. Works well and as long as I take in in during rainy weather I think will work out fine. Came folded and still hasn't gotten to where lays flat. Have clothes steamer that I think may help to make the rug lay flat. Read more

So let's start off with the positive aspects of this "mat" - when you put this on a hard surface floor you are trying to protect it is going to do an amazing job. Its durable, will lay flat (eventually) and your office wheels will roll pretty smoothly over it. At basically 4'x5' it covers more area than most mats, and that extra space is welcome; I really do roll over the edge of any mat smaller. This thing is basically an area rug, and its firm tough surface resembles almost any commercial area rug out there, except for the backing which is a whole other level of non-skid stickiness. On a hardwood floor or concrete basement floor it's going to stay in place very very well. So the bad - it's not pretty to look at. I don't feel that it adds to any decor I would be comfortable having (if I were into decor). The print on it really does resemble a bad pixelated rendering of what an oriental rug is supposed to look like. That being said - it's the only flaw I could come up with. But if you're going to buy an area rug with a design, it SHOULD look nice. At $50 I would want it to look a little better - but it's a decent price so I can look the other way. And my dogs LOVE it. This vibrant rug will definitely be a showstopper in your office. The color combinations are excellent. I happen to have two gold pillows where you could sit on the floor and do some work there. The golden color worked out perfectly against the beautiful bright colors. You could actually accent with any color. I would imagine a solid color would be best. For the function of this rug, the bottom is very durable where the plastic foam adheres to the hardwood and does not shift around once the chair is on it. It’s well-made it will last a long time and the fact that it has slipped protection because the bottom does not allow the rug to move. Though as with all area carpets, you must be cautious of the edges. Other than that it’s a nice addition to our office. Read more
