Great hat for the garden, especially if you have a big head.... My hat size is 7-7/8", hat fits great; after receiving, I bought a 2nd one for when this one wears out, that great of a hat. Has a real bohemian feel to it. There is a wire around the rim, a necessary evil to keep the brim up and out. I don't think it's UV rated, does a good job of keeping the sun out of my eyes and off my neck. Brim is the right size, good coverage not so large it hit everything. I like the hat, I really do. I wish it had been shipped not inside a paper envelope that could be folded and shoved into a mailbox. The wire in the brim of the hat is responsive and stiff enough that it seems to hold it's shape well enough. The crown portion of it was flattened, and it sits kinda to one side...perhaps that can be adjusted with a steam gun. Unfortunately, I don't have one of those. Simply looking at the hat, one can tell it was crushed at some point--hopefully I can straighten that out. I got the XXL because I have an abnormally large head. This hat fits, but only just--it's on the verge of too tight, but it fits well enough. The construction seems to be a decent enough quality, time will tell I suppose. The inside lining is appreciated because the hemp material would be rather scratchy on the dome piece. I like the coverage it provides from the sun, and with the bendable wire in the brim, I can adjust as necessary for every situation (such as riding in a car--turning my head side to side interferes with the seat head rest). I think my wife is indifferent about it, and said it was a nice fashion piece--I'm not sure she wasn't being sarcastic. I will definitely wear this hat out and about. The hat has a wonderfully wide brim, supported by a strong wire woven into the fabric edge. This allows me to contour the brim for a maximum desired shade over the back of my neck. As a homesteader I greatly appreciate the natural fiber and lining for comfort all the way around and over the head. I can work long days under this hat and I trust it will last me many years.
