Low-end Henkel, but still durable with decent stainless - will last years if you sharpen over time (not just put an “edge” on it). I bought the knife for meat prep, which I do infrequently. I’ve trusted Henkel for decades, even the less expensive “one offs” like this. The knife makes easy work of any meat I’ve prepped including game. And myself. this value line of kitchen knives from Henckels is right on target. Premio are ultra sharp, ergonomically designed, pretty well balanced. For the money, this knife and it’s accompanying knives are an excellent value for money. I made the mistake of purchasing one of Henckels “economy” knives from the Solutions line (made in India) and the blade seemed like almost half the weight of this line, and very flexible. had to send it back for fear of cutting myself. Compared to the very very expensive Zwilling Henckel knives that I am sure will keep their sharpness way longer than these, this Premio line (crafted in China with German steel) is an excellent option. I purchased a 18 piece knife set earlier and it had 3 open slots ja henckels had 2 of the 3 missing knives and amazon had 1. the quality is great but I wound not put them in the dishwasher. I read the sheet that came the set and read some of the reviews. I took a risk and bought amazons last warehouse deal. the report stated the handles had blemishes. when I opened the box I found open boxes containing steak knives and regular knives still in plastic bags with paper sheathes. there were no blemishes found. someone just sent them back. great for me.
