I bought this for my new Aeron Remastered, which does not include a pad because they deemed it unnecessary with new mesh application. I’m 6’5” and have long legs, so the pad helps with where the chairs base sits behind my legs. I found it a nice, subtle upgrade. The foam is a nice density and it fit perfectly into my size C chair. This is part of my refresh for a Herman Miller Classic Aeron size C chair. Briefly stated: This is a good quality refresh for the waterfall edge of the seat that requires some time to install. It's noticeable at first because it's new, but I don't find it uncomfortable or hard. The included instructions are minimal, so this is my process description: I took the advice of another reviewer and removed the mesh seat insert to install the new cushion. As you can see in the first photo, the cushion, seat, and mechanism were very dirty - and that's where I spent most of my time. The cushion itself tore off in pieces, and needed some work with a plastic scraper to get all the tape residue off. Once that was finished, I cleaned off the remaining adhesive with some isopropyl alcohol and then the full area with a damp cloth. Installing the new cushion was easy, the main challenge was getting the backing on the double face tape lifted without tearing the cushion underneath. Be patient and try all four corners until you can get one started and fold over that corner for grabbing later. Then position the cushion properly, expose just enough tape to hold one end, re-check the position, and finally pull off the rest of the backing and press the cushion in place. It's harder to describe than it is to do, just work slowly and carefully. The last thing to be really careful with is putting the mesh insert back in place. The frame is a square plastic tube, and it appears the screws are self-tapping which were just drilled into the frame. Because of this, I was careful to line up the holes of the frame and seat pan, and gently tighten the screws into the existing holes. My concern was that creating a new hole, or over tightening, might rip the plastic frame and make the seat weaker. As mentioned in the other review, the new cushion does make re-installing the fabric seat a challenge. I started at the back where it was easy to line up the holes, and did all 4 of those first. That kept the fabric frame stable while I worked from side to side, and then could squeeze the front edge easily with one hand and fasten those screws. Read more

Leaving this review for different products. Not really knowing which to buy of two size-C-specific pads, I bought one that was $12 and the other was $19, give or take. Here you see some photos of the two the $12 one is about the same dimensions may be a little bit bigger in the horizontal plane than the $19 one. The $19 is probably ever slightly closer to the original cut-out size on an Aeron Classic’s pad while the $12 is closer to the original in thickness. The original might be a little denser but that may not be a fair comparison if these compress with use. Additionally, the $12 one is just a little bit thicker. They both have the same amount of resistance/compressibility, so I went with the $12 one. Both products seem fine. You have to remove the mesh to install. You can’t possibly hope to shove a sticky pad into a narrow slot and hope for a good result. And then you have to do some ginger convincing when re-screwing the mesh. Some of these may not work great on an Aeron remastered. Read more

Owners of Aeron chairs know parts wear out over time. This pad is a wear item and replacing it was very easy, Have your vacuum and a thin brush to get all the crumbling material out of the channel; when you remove the old foam. This replacement just presses into place, but take the time to be sure it's tucked up alright.Sadly, parts for the larger chairs seemed to be fading from availablity. so if you even suspect you might need this, buy it now. I cannot speak for the quality or life of this replacement, but the phisocal size was correct for the large Size C Aeron office chair. Do not install the way they say. Pop out 8 of the small screws holding the mesh in place a then place the new pad in the proper location. Then reinstall the 8 screws. Took 10 minutes. Read more

My Herman Miller chair is at least 17 years old. It is the most comfortable office chair that I have ever sat in. So when the foam underneath the front of the chair started to disintegrate, I was devastated. Herman Miller chairs are so expensive so I was excited to find the replacement piece. When I received the piece, I was nervous to do the replacement because it has a sticky side to hold it in place and you have one shot to get it right. I followed the directions and things turned out great. Well worth the investment and a little bit of work. Read more

And you don't need to take off the mesh. Take off the adhesive cover to loosen, then replace. Slide the whole thing in after you've cleaned out the old one, then remove the adhesive cover. This is the right size and feel, that other $12 one on Amazon is far too thick and firm. Read more

Fits perfectly and is comfortable. It came with an adhesive strip already attached but i did a dry fit just to see how it would fit and found I didn't even need to use the adhesive strip. Read more
