Bought a size up so I can wear a SmartWool glove as a base layer. Nice leather and quality. Average warmth for a fingered glove in this range. White leather palms got dirty quickly but still looks good enough otherwise. Read more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I liked these gloves for downhill, on-piste skiing in spring conditions (April in Europe), but I found them cold in February. The padding compressed quite a bit with 20 days of wear skiing, so they went from a decently snug fit to way too loose. I liked the quality of the fabric and the sewing, the comfortable safety wrist straps, the easy of putting them on and taking them off, and the ability to remove the liners (though that's hard!). I did not find them waterproof when skiing in spring conditions and occasionally with rain. They were easy to slip on and off, and I never dropped them thanks to the safety cord/elastic wrist collar. I'm not one of those people who counts how many days I ski each year, but I live in a resort area and ski a LOT. I bought these prior to the 2016-17 season, and they've been my only gloves for 9 winters. The leather on the palms and fingers is pliable but tough. They have some nicks from ski edges, but nothing all the way through the leather. The fabric and stitching are perfect after almost a decade. I slap some Sno-Seal on the leather once a year, but otherwise don't baby them. I did notice my fingertips getting cold on some particularly nasty days the last couple of years. I just bought a set of genuine Hestra replacement liners which made me realize that my old liners were pretty packed out. I expect to have toasty digits in all conditions next winter. There's room under the liners for an additional silk liner which I also picked up just in case. These are actually the cheapest gloves I've ever owned, if I divide the purchase price by the number of years they've kept me warm, dry, and shredding! Read more

Bought these in spring and have been waiting months for my first try. These did not disappoint at all. My hands were toasty warm and the large gauntlets allow you to put it over jacket. Ok dexterity considering the size, but I got their Hestra liners as well to use with my phone and the combo worked like a charm. I just started skiing last year, in my forties, live south of where anyone could easily go skiing, so I wanted something that will last. These gloves, I’m reading from reviews, ski stores, and word of mouth, last forever so they’re worth the investment. Anything to keep my digits warm in cold weather, I’m down. I may check out Heatra’s socks next based off these gloves. The Hallow socks my buddy gave me work ok, not great but ok. Definitely double up with liners that can control a cell phone screen though. These gloves are too bulky and don’t work on a screen. It’s like the Hulk using an iPhone. Read more
