My garage is dreadfully dark and I saw these on many a YouTube video. I came across these, saw the coupon and took a chance. Installation was easy with just myself, a ladder and my drill. It took about an hour and I hardwired them to the existing switch. They are awesome! Seriously! If you have a dark garage, skip the screw in LED bulb and just get these! I've been eyeing up a set of LED hex lights for my garage for about a year now and finally decided to pull the trigger. Lights arrived packaged pretty well. There are 2 bags of various electrical connectors, 1 bag of mounting hardware and then the LED tube's themselves. It also comes with a tri-fold instruction sheet. At first glance the electrical connectors looked on the cheaper side, but functional. They are thin metal, friction fit and appear to have some 'gold' like plating. Since these will be mounted fast to a drywall ceiling, I'm not too concerned with the connections failing over time. You have several options for how you want to build the light fixture. I choose 2x1x2 as shown in the instruction sheet and on many of the promos. I started laying the lights out on the garage floor, it's pretty intuitive once you see it - pick a connector - stick an LED tube in - repeat until desired shape is achieved. Once I had all the pieces connected, I ran an extension cord to verify that it worked. I was blown away with how bright they were! Very happy with the light output. Now it was time to hang it up. Since I was installing this myself, I opted to hang it in sections. I used a tape measure and laser level to mark the position of the first piece and also to square it up. I found 2 hexes to be the most manageable and stable to hang at once. Using the provided anchors and screws, I had the whole assembly up in less than an hour.
