I love the hex light system for the brightness and ability to configure to your needs. I bought this additional wall plug specifically to create a separate and independent light bar hexagon using my existing hex light kit. The original kit only included one hard-wire electrical connector, and I wanted a separate hexagon in a different garage that could simply plug into a wall outlet. This solved the problem perfectly. It is a high quality strong white colored cord approximately 1 meter. By adding this, I was able to set up a completely separate hex with its own plug-in power source, no hard wiring required. Installation was straightforward and compatibility with the original kit was spot-on. The result is exactly what I was aiming for: a standalone hexagon light, powered independently, in a different space. Note, this will attach to a “tri” connector (must already have this) where you have 1 of the 3 connectors unused by a light bar. You just plug this in to the unused side and it’s good to go and lights the whole system. If you’re looking to expand your hex light setup or create a separate config without running new wiring, this is a great solution. It worked easily for me and did exactly what it promised. Read more

We have two separate hex light systems that are ever so slightly different from each other. We were actually able to connect both of them with these bars. And you can barely tell there’s a size difference. One fit perfectly while the other requires a bit of adjusting the housing to fit. Once they were connected, installation was easy since we already had the support system in place and none of the passers are heavy at all. The light output matches the rest of the hexes; not perfectly but you really can’t tell unless you’re looking for it. These bars appear to be just as durable as the original systems. These extra 2 pc LED light bars are backups for existing hexagon lighting systems. Therefore, you should already have connectors and wiring to power them on. My original setup had one light bar go out, so ordered this as a replacement. These are identical is terms of size dimensions, light output (Kelvin) temperature and plug input. The difference to my existing light bar is the “tab” location (see photo) … my existing tab location is a lot lower. It still plugs in, but doesn’t tightly tab into place. Not really a big deal, as the lights still power on (see pictures of them lit up). The other difference is the body material, my old bar is white plastic and the new one is silver aluminum. This is also not a big deal, since you don’t really notice the difference once installed on the ceiling. Read more

Unfortunately, this did not work for my lights. The plug is too small and does not have the notches on the connector like the included plug has. I was hoping to use this to set up a 2nd light setup with some of the leftover light pieces I had from my hex set, but it's just not meant to be. I see no reason why this wouldn't work if you have the right size connector on your lights. It seems well made and should have no issues supplying power. The pins on the inside look to be the right size as my plugs though. I could probably modify the outer part to make it fit. But then again, probably not a good idea to go hacking things that provide 120v. Oh well. Read more

These are some great light tubes. Very bright, very light weight, and easy to install. The connectors have the screw holes that you mount to the wall or ceiling then plug the lights and the cable into everything and you're good to go. Very easy to setup and use too. The cord they sell is pretty short, but the beauty of this setup is that it can connect to an open end of a light tube at any section and it'll power the whole array you've set up. Read more

Just so everyone knows these lights are not universal. The housings are slightly larger than the ones I have. The plugs are also smaller than the lights that I have. So, I am not able to test light output but I can tell you about the construction and what I can see from a tear down. These light bars have a good looking frosted cover that closes the LED strip. The aluminum base is very thin and lightweight. This is good so that it doesn’t weigh too much for your installation. Even though the bottom housing is thin it still maintains some structural integrity. The wires inside of the light bars are attached securely to the contacts. They are also protected with shrink tube to prevent accidental shorts. Inside the housing there is a small LED driver board that seems to have some capacitors for noise mitigation. The LED strip is actually a PCB that slides into the aluminum housing. This is nice and should last longer than a thin strip with an adhesive back. If these are compatible with your lighting, set up, installation will be very simple being that they are just plug-in play. I think these strips are pretty good value if they will work for you. If you just need a couple extra light bars or fittings, this is a lot cheaper than buying a full lighting set up. Read more
