This worked really great for my purpose. I have a utility closet in my garage, crawl space below, and a heated garage, not with a crawl space. I don't want to run the furnace in the garage during the overnight. So I cut a hole in the plenum, ran flexible tubing to this outlet, through the sheetrock, into the garage. I put this on in my remodeled dinning room, I wanted to get away from the old metal circular diffusers. At first glance out of the package, it's all plastic, I do not believe it is ABS plastic as it is a little flimsy. It fit perfect I will admit, it's just really flimsy plastic. The threaded insert for the cover was not inserted all the way, it wabbles when turning the cover even after pushing the insert all the way in. It does have a nice look to it, no whistle noise until you almost close it completely I mounted mine directly to the metal duct using 1/2 self tapping screws, better than the tiny 3/8 screws they sent to attach it to the drywall. Over all, just an overpriced piece of plastic that does look different. Read more
