This thing is AMAZING. For those familiar with a "turbo nozzle" on a pressure washer, this does a very similar thing, but with air instead of water. The oscillation generated by the tool is far more effective at loosening dirt and grime than a single static stream like you may get from a single nozzle air gun. Hooked it up to my compressor and used it in concert with my wet/dry vac to clean some floor mats and car interiors. I mixed up a weak cleaning solution of 0.5 teaspoon powdered Tide and about a quart of water in a spray bottle. Lightly misted the seats and mats with the solution, let dwell for a little while, then powered through with his nozzle -- great results. There are plenty of DIY and commercial cleaning products out there, I look forward to experimenting with them more when it's not the dead of winter. I was also able to use this for cleaning out dry debris from tight spaces, like my drill index -- looks really clean now. Used it to clean up other places in my shop. Cleanup of the tool is very straightforward, you screw off the end and rinse off any debris. The only things to watch out for: - This thing does blow things everywhere. Probably better to include it early in the detailing and cleaning process rather than later, as you will in some respects be generating dust and debris while using it, but that will be far more picked up with a vacuum since it will be use. - The tool does use a lot of air volume to work. I have a compressor with a 60 gallon tank and the compressor was cycling pretty regularly. You really want to be running the pressure at 90 PSI and it's moving a lot of air at that pressure. Amazing tool, probably gets used almost as much as our shop vacuums. We run ours between 90 and 95 PSI, a little on the high side, but my god does this tool work wonders. Lifting even the most stubborn dirt and grime from those matted down carpet fibers. The rebuild kits are affordable as well, and the tool is super easy to maintain to keep it running well. For the price, vortex clearly undershoots “tornador”, but when comparing side to side, the two tools act and function nearly identical, with the only difference being that you’re paying nearly $30 extra for a brand name. Get the vortex, you don’t need the tornador brand name. I typically expect a 25 hour duty cycle with each vortex before having to buy a rebuild kit. You heard that correctly, you should be able to run your vortex air cannon for 25 hours STRAIGHT before having to buy rebuild kits. These things are STRONG. I think my current setup has vortex air cannons from December of 2024, and we use them twice a week for about 1 hour total duty cycle. Read more
I had never before used an air cleaning tool to detail my car. I watched a few videos to get the just of how it works. It is amazing how well this works. My car looks like it was professionally detailed. Just make sure you use a shop vacuum in conjunction with the air gun. It helps keep the dust and debris down. Make sure to use this first then continue to detail the inside of your vehicle otherwise you will have to detail the inside a second time. I found this out the hard way. Absolutely love this purchase can’t say enough good things about it. Buy it you won’t be let down. Read more

Works as expected. Definitely moves small debris on your vehicle carpet and cleans tight areas. I expected a bit more air volume but I believe this may be from my end as I'm using a 3 gallon compressor. Plan on trying it with my larger compressor. Read more
As a part-time auto detailer with a passion for pristine interiors and exteriors, I’ve tried every trick in the book to tackle stubborn dirt, dust, and dog hair in tight spots. The HI-TECH Vortex II Air Cleaning Gun has officially earned a permanent spot in my arsenal – this thing is a game-changer for anyone serious about detailing. Hooked up to my air compressor at 90 PSI, the Vortex II unleashes a tornado-like blast that obliterates grime in seconds. I used it on a client’s SUV with years of ground-in carpet dirt and pet hair – the pulsating vortex motion lifted it all out of the fibers like magic, leaving nothing for the vacuum to miss. It’s not just interiors; I blasted caked-on dust from wheel wells and engine bays with zero effort, and the dry mode dried everything streak-free in record time. The wet-to-dry switch is seamless – just flip it, add my favorite cleaner, and it’s back to deep-cleaning upholstery or dashboard crevices. The build quality is top-notch: rugged, industrial-grade components that feel like they’ll outlast my compressor. The cone-shaped nozzle covers wide areas but still gets into tight spots like vents and seat tracks. It’s ergonomic, too – no hand cramps after an hour of use. Plus, it uses less cleaning solution than my old methods, saving me cash on supplies. For pros or DIYers who want showroom results without the elbow grease, this is worth every penny. Pairs perfectly with my other gear and cuts cleaning time in half. Five stars – the Vortex II is a detailing beast! Read more
