Great for my carpal tunnel!

I have a mild case of carpal tunnel syndrome. The use of this keyboard, a good below-the-desk keyboard tray and an Evoluent mouse probably made the difference for me in not having to have surgery to correct the issue so far. The keyboard has a good layout, great tactile feel, and adjusts to a position that is very natural for my hands. As a software developer, I type a lot, and this keyboard has worked very well. It took a couple of days for me to find the correct angle to set it at and get used to it, but it was a surprisingly easy transition. I am actually on my second one of these keyboards. After 4 or 5 years, the mechanism for adjusting the split between the two halves succumbed to my pounding, and the keyboard would tend to go flat. But for the first several years, this keyboard was marvelous. If you are used to a keyboard that has a numeric keypad on the right hand side, you may miss it once you begin using this keyboard. I know I did. However, the benefits far outweigh the disadvantage for me. I am not keypunching in large quantities of numeric data, so it's just a minor inconvenience that I got used to. If you do need a numeric keypad, there are separate ones available. If you type a lot, and especially if you suffer from wrist pain, get one of these keyboards. They are worth every penny. Read more

Other than that the keyboard works great. The keys are very soft to the touch

Since I have the keyboard on a tray under my desk, the raised position bumps on to the desk whenever I move the tray in to get it out of the way. This is an unanticipated inconvenience. Other than that the keyboard works great. The keys are very soft to the touch, the raise is highly adjustable, and easily changed. I am feeling more comfortable when typing. Only reason I did not give five start is because it is heavy and expensive. Read more

Favorite keyboard, if only they put the 6 on the right not left

I got this keyboard at work when the ergo person noticed my wrists were bent typing. It is just great. Super adjustable, no annoying, space hogging 10 key pad, nice feel to it. Everything is great. Almost. As anyone who learned how to type in school will tell you, the '6' key is supposed to be typed with the RIGHT hand, not the LEFT hand. The LEFT index finger gets 4 and 5, and the RIGHT index finger gets 6 and 7. But for some zany reason, split keyboard makers decided they should teach old dogs new tricks by forcing us to type the blasted 55665655%#^%^ 6 key with the LEFT hand. Bow wow. It was a terrible decision. But I still like the keyboard. Read more

Ahhh.. relief

This keyboard is heavy and well made, albiet the keys are a bit loud for my taste. It is hands down the most adjustable keyboard I've ever used and a God Send for relieving your wrists. It is far more adjustable then the ergonomic microsoft or logitech keyboards i've tried. I like the fact that I can simultaniously adjust the vertical height, tilt and spread of the keys to a very large degree. This keyboard lets you adjust for your body size - if you are small and your arms are not as far apart as someone of a much broader stature, it can adjust for that. I find that I have more relief if I set the keyboard for a steeper angle then I can get with the microsoft or logitech keyboards. My one complaint, and the reason I don't give it 5 stars, is that it does not have a seperate 10 key number pad. Yes, you can press the Num-Lock key and use the right hand letter keys as a quazi-number pad but it seems awkward and inconvinient to me. That said, I don't think Goldtouch could have integrated a seperate number pad and still maintain the ergonomics of the keyboard. If you need wrist relief, this keyboard does work. Give it time, it does feel AWKWARD at 1st and requires getting use to. Read more

Actually a USB keyboard with a PS/2 adapter. Jackpot!

I'm typing on this keyboard to write this review, and I gotta say, I'm digging it so far. I should probably wait to hone my impressions, but I want to get this out there as soon as possible: THIS IS NATIVELY A USB KEYBOARD! It comes with an adapter to make it PS/2 compatible. I wish I had known or noticed that before buying, as I ended up buying a PS/2 to USB adapter which is now useles. I was actually in the market for a USB keyboard, but this one is $40-60 cheaper than the USB models you can find on here. PROS: - really adjustable, obviously - feels like a solid construction - key feel is pleasant and quiet CONS: - a little higher off the desk than I was expecting - no media keys - no feet that can be raised underneath to change that angle OTHER THOUGHTS: The key layout for things like the arrow keys, Home, End and the Windows button are all altered from a traditional keyboard. That's not good or bad, but will take some getting used to. All in all, seems like this is a screaming deal and a solid purchase. It took 6 calendar days from when I ordered it to when I received it with the seller's free shipping; not bad for not-Amazon. Read more
