I used to travel a lot for my work. Although I never really worried about it, I would sometimes wonder if the hotel room was bugged. Or if there may be a hidden video camera somewhere. If that's a concern of yours, I think this just might be the answer! I have a small, motion activated camera in my home as a security measure. It's hidden pretty well. after reading the well written instructions, I decided to see just how well it worked. Let me tell you, I started one room away, and it picked it up right away. The signal indicator grew stronger the closer I got. I also used it on my car. I have a gps tracking unit, and wanted to see if it really could detect it. It did! This smart camera detector is very compact and comes with very detailed instructions on how to use it to detect 2.4 G, full band (from 1 MHz to 6.5 G), infrared and magnetic fields. Mode selection and sensitivity were easy to use once I got the hang of it. Each of the detection modes have a colored indicator light but I have to keep referring back to the instructions to remind me what color goes with the corresponding mode. I did a check on my house and it picked up my WiFi network right away. I turned off my WiFi and scanned the rest of my residence. I then used the infrared mode by sliding up the back of the housing and looking through the sight glass while in infrared mode. I did not detect anything but still not 100% sure I am using it correctly. The manual says if there is a camera in the field of view, you will find a very strong bright spot flashing. Comes with a USB cable for charging the built-in battery and stores nicely in the foam lined box. I wish there was a way to mute the beeping sound because it can get very loud and is sort of irritating. I still have to practice using this in different places but overall, I think this can be a very useful detector. Read more

I had to look up a video for this on Youtube to understand how some of it works and it didn't detect things as well as I had hoped it might. We use Airbnb a lot and people are crazy so I got this to scan for things. It was useful for finding some cameras and signals, but in any house you're going to have a ton of 2.5 and 5 GHz signals. The GPS didn't detect my phone, but it did detect another device I had with it. As far as how easy it is to use, go watch a video because the instructions don't make a ton of sense. The signals can also be confusing and a red herring sometimes. It's $20 at the time of reviewing. I think that's a reasonable price, but it is a fairly simple product. I'm not sure if this would give me piece of mind as you can detect a lot of this with more detail on your phone. There are camera detecting apps that are pretty good and you can detect other wireless signals. I honestly thought I would use it more, but it's just not super clear what to look for to find realistic evidence of someone spying on you. Can't say it gives me piece of mind. I do like that it's very portable. I'd probably look for one that can give you more information than just some beeping. Read more
I’ll be using this while I travel to different hotels. I love how easy it is to use and the great signal. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my family and I are safe and not being recorded without our permission. I don’t understand all the technical stuff, but I can assure you that it works. I’ve used it in my own home and my son has used it in his. We hid cameras and this device found them. It’s definitely an extra layer of protection. This is a very good value for all of the technology that is compressed into this little package. It scans for radio signals that listening devices and hidden cameras send out. It picks up on IR light used by camera devices and the lens can be used with the IR light on this device to detect very small cameras. The weakness in this package is the instructions, which read like a translating device was used (very poor). They are confusing and difficult to follow when it gets into the different sensor settings and switching between the features. The technology seem sound and will let you know if there is something you should be aware of. You will get better instructions from the order page. This device is very compact making it very easy to carry with you. It is also rechargeable. I am giving it a four star rating instead of a five because the instructions are so bad that it will limit a lot of people from using this device to its full potential. It should be easy to use, but the instructions make it seem more difficult. This is a very small item, and it charges by a USB-C cord. Cord is included. Instructions are included for use and fairly simple to follow. Took me a few minutes to figure it out, but it’s color-coded and simple to understand. Seems to operate well. Can’t wait to take it when we travel this fall. I was only able to detect 2.5 & 5 GHz WiFi but not my cellular GPS nor my hidden cameras. The instructions are not completely intuitive and the way reads, I thought this device was a joke. The antenna it to call home... The font size is not for an older person... Read more
