Its lightweight, compact and very easy to use. READ the instructions as they are helpful. We ordered 5 new cameras for the center. They were alledgedly installed. So I took this gadget into see if I could find them. I found 3 of them right off the bat, could not find the last two. I broke down feeling defeated and asked where they were. I was told they hadn't been installed yet. As long as you move it slow, like the instructions say, it's great. I did have to move it REALLY slow in the kitchen where everything is stainless steel as there was some feedback. It will go with me on vacation! Read more

So this thing is pretty cool for what it is, but it will not be the super duper FBI tools. You have several modes I'll try to explain what they do: Mode 1) Red light, solid or flashes, youre looking for the reflection of a pinhole camera lens, there is not detection functionality beyond that 2) Signal detection - this mode IS the super Duper FBI tool mode, it looks for wifi or data signals coming off devices, be aware you have to be RIGHT UP on the device to get a reading, but you can tell if something is broadcasting 3)IR detection(not tested yet) this SHOULD alert when the system picks up the signal of an IR emitter which are white hot for all but human eyes, A regular camera can do this as well; but its nice to have in a pocket tool 4)Magnetism detector - detects magnets 5)Flashlight 6)Sentry mode -use the internal motion sensor to check for movement. I think for what this is; mode 3 is probably most useful. If you have a lens cover on your cellphone, if you want a device to do some odd functions, its a cool little thing. I don't have a sense for the sensitivity, but it does get readings it does seem to work, and before you spend 5k on spy tools, $40 seems like a good way to start for the junior package.
