STUNNING!!! I am at a loss for words on this jewel box! This is not a utilitarian piece; it is a showpiece and should be forever admired! I chose the peony motif and am so glad I did. The lush coloring of the flowers is incredible. The added splash of gold here and there adds to its beauty. The box is impeccable in its construction inside and out. There is not a flaw to be seen and the plush velvety finish in the drawers is lovely. I am amazed at the glass exterior and have never seen anything to rival this box. Truly gorgeous and I will treasure it. Finally much care was taken with the packaging and the piece was surrounded by styrofoam and cardboard beyond an inch of its life! This jewelry box looks beautiful and has a classy, elegant design with glass panels and a delicate bird and floral pattern underneath. The layout is well thought out with five drawers, side doors for necklaces, and a mirror in the lid for convenience. The velvet interior gives it a soft, upscale feel and keeps jewelry protected from scratches. Functionally, it works fine but isn’t anything special. The drawers don’t run on tracks, they simply slide in and out of their slots like a standard jewelry box. Because of the velvet lining, they can bind slightly if not pushed in straight. It’s not bad, just something to be mindful of. The side doors open easily and include hooks for necklaces, and one of the lower drawers includes soft watch pillows for holding several watches securely. Everything fits as expected, but there’s no lock or latch to secure the drawers or lid. It’s a heavy piece, mostly due to all the decorative glass panels attached to an engineered wood frame. I’ve owned similar boxes made with pleather, acrylic, or veneer panels, and over time, those types tend to separate as the glue weakens. While this one hasn’t shown that yet, the overall construction feels similar, just dressed up to look more high end. It looks great sitting on a dresser and organizes jewelry nicely, but at nearly $300, it feels overpriced for what it is. I once bought a cheaper version of this jewelry box and it might as well have been made of cardboard. It doesn't compare to the real thing at all. This glass beauty was triple boxed and packed with excellent care. Unpacking it was a delight as more and more of the beautiful bird artwork was revealed each time I moved a layer. Inside, the lined compartments are plush and a wonderful way to showcase my best jewelry pieces. I placed this box on the built-in bureau in my closet and with the beautiful teal color and beautiful design, it's as much of a display piece as a container. The glass overlaying the pattern gives it clarity and dimension. Although the glass requires more fragile handling, it strengthens the jewelry box and will gives it more structural integrity as the years pass. It's also very easy to dust. With the pull out armoire doors, it has more than enough room for all of my earrings and necklaces. With the sturdy, affixed hooks, I can hang my necklaces and bracelets to prevent them from tangling. I like the way the arms can fold out, when I want to see everything and then fold back in for storage space. I find myself using the mirror not only to model my earrings, but to assess my face too. It's like a mini vanity. I like pulling out all of the drawers. It makes organizing easy and I can always find everything. The drawers have handle, but they have no curves or finger slots, so sometimes they are not easy to grasp and pull out. Read more
