I’m impressed with this hair dryer. It dries my hair super fast compared to my old one. It’s not insanely loud, but about what you would expect. Update: Updating my review, changing to one star. When I was using it today, one of the buttons just fell off in my hand. Just fell out of the unit. I've only been using it for a few days and I haven't dropped it or anything. This, in addition to the lack of safety certification in the United States, and the fact that it basically leaves my hair in a tangled mess, has led me to update my review and reduce my star rating. Going back to my Conair. ----------------- I have mixed feelings about this dryer and really wanted to give it more stars. First, it looks great. It is metal, and it feels lovely in the hand. Looks high-end. But the looks are the best part. My first concern is that it doesn't carry any US safety certifications. No UL listing. So be warned. The second issue is that if you use it without the concentrator or the diffuser, it's like a wind tunnel. That's great, except it causes my hair to get super tangled. If I use the diffuser or concentrator, then the airflow is slowed down tremendously, and it takes forever to dry my hair. Maybe I just don't get it, but this doesn't seem like the best thing in the world. I really wish it did better for me. Maybe it's just my hair type. I have very fine straight hair. It tangles easily. So maybe this just isn't the dryer for me. Overall it does heat up very quickly. Which is nice. And it has three temperature adjustments and two speeds. That's also very handy. But the fact that it has no safety certifications in my country where it's being sold, the United States, and also because I have problems finding a setting that actually works for my hair type, would lead me to not buy this again. I thought this would be a little bit more lightweight than it is. It has a solid feel to it for the size and so far has been working well. It has a clip on diffuser and concentrater nozzle that magnetically attaches. Once you turn on the front switch, you can adjust the speed on the other side with the switch as well change the heat level. Once you do that, you can see the colors on the end change to let you know what setting it’s on. Currently this is almost $130 but there’s a coupon that reduces it by 50%. The media could not be loaded. This is a powerful hairdryer - I used an (uncalibrated) anemometer and it registered just under 40 MPH on high speed which I believe is in line with Dyson's. It's definitely not quiet, but at 80 decibels (30 before I turned it on) it's reasonable. With the magnetic diffuser in place both numbers drop but it is so powerful. The build feels solid and it's not overly heavy. I'm male with a thick head of medium length hair (above ears). In two minutes I'm Zoom ready. The controls are intuitive and the cool air setting works well. The hot setting is a reasonable temperature. Definitely not inexpensive but you get an impressive tool. Read more
