Solid value for the price.

Solid value for the price. I use these to monitor temps inside my entertainment center. With a home theater setup that puts out a good amount of heat, I wanted something simple to help me keep an eye on airflow and hotspots. These thermometers do exactly what I need them to. They’re accurate enough for this kind of use. I compared all five and the readings were close—within a degree or so. The probes are small and easy to tuck behind gear or route through vents. The displays are clear and easy to read at a glance. Only downside is battery life—one unit came with a weak battery, but replacements are cheap and easy to install. Bottom line: if you’re looking for basic, reliable temp monitoring without spending a lot, this is a solid pick. I’d buy them again. Read more

Good value for the price

With a 10 second update time and a probe with fairly large thermal mass these aren't a good choice for measuring rapidly changing temperatures. If this isn't a consideration in your application, their measurements track well (in 10 samples over the course of three days, mine were within 0.6°F of one another), and within 1°F of an adjacent thermometer of known calibration, which is within the packaging's +/-2°F accuracy specification. There's a typo in the range specification printed on the box which claims -20 to 110°C, and -4 to 158°F (which can't be right; water boils at 100°C/212°F). I've successfully immersed a probe to measure hot water as it rose to boiling, and tend to believe the 110°C (230°F) maximum temperature specification is correct. Read more

Reasonable accuracy and exceptional value

fiddlebackJune 7, 2024✓ Verified purchase

These digital thermometers provide excellent 5-star value for the money. However, I deducted one star because the Amazon listing OVERSTATED their accuracy by a FACTOR of 20!! Performance is misrepresented in the “Product Description” by stating an accuracy of “+-0.1”, whereas the box (first photo) clearly states a more reasonable +-2 F accuracy, which the units do indeed achieve. If you bought these believing the “Product Description”, you would be sorely disappointed. (Temperature resolution is also misstated. The box correctly lists the resolution as 0.2F, whereas the “Product Description says “0.1”) I bought two lots (10 thermometers) for household A/C and temperature monitoring. A quick initial test showed that all did indeed display degrees Fahrenheit, all LED display segments appeared to work, and all displays looked crisp with high contrast in normal room light. The displays are not back-lit, so won’t be visible in the dark without some illumination. For quick initial accuracy testing, I strapped groups of 5 sensors together, and blew a boxer fan at them (second photo), allowing time for them to settle. My reference temperature was provided by a 100-ohm platinum RTD, whose accuracy has been previously verified. (It’s inside the small copper tube in the photo.) The RTD temperature was read using a four-wire hookup to a precision meter (photo 3). Results? All units were within +-0.9 F – well within the accuracy stated on the box. One was right on, five read low, and four read high. If time permits, I’ll provide a more comprehensive evaluation. Bottom line: at two bucks apiece, these digital thermometers provide exceptional value. Read more

Works as expected!

ROBERT C MIZE, JrJanuary 8, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Works as expected! These little devices are good for checking the tempature inside the chicken House on a hard freezing night! or in the bottom of the Hot Tub. I bought the five pack and they all were within a half a degree of the others. Well worth the price for around the farm when you are worried about water freezing and little creatures getting cold. Units arrive already turned on.

CustomerFebruary 3, 2026✓ Verified purchase

These are currently working, but they were already turned on, so I have no idea how long the initial set of batteries will last. They're $2 thermometers, and good for basic or relative temps at a very low cost, but either put in a plastic pull strip to activate the batteries or leave them separate. It's more that 1/2 the cost to replace the batteries, too bad they can't send these so I could determine regular battery life as who knows how long the thermometer has been on for? Read more

Surprisingly precise

AGFebruary 22, 2026✓ Verified purchase

The batch I got is surprisingly precise. All showing the the same temp with 1/10 of a degree and also matching other industrial thermometer I have. Perhaps it's a hit or miss here but I got lucky. Read more

Worked ok but...

Dr TszapJune 4, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Easier to read than old-school liquid thermometers and more precise than dial thermometers but because there is no pull strip, batteries may not have full life left and the lack of any kind of seal means there are susceptible to condensation and corrosion in cold locations like a fridge (but at $2/EA they are cheap to replace!) Data nerd likes them

Mr. WilsonSeptember 3, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Purchased a 5 pack. Three of the 5 are right on at room temperature. The other 2 within 1 degree F. For the price this is excellent. I also have many of these without the wired probe. The probe style is definitely more accurate. However, I would pass on the models that include humidity which are not accurate at all, not even for moisture estimates. If you want consistent accuracy for humidity and temperature buy a ThermoPro TP-50 (on Amazon). I use those to check/calibrate all my thermometers. Read more
