I just needed a small container to keep one of my rings and a pair of earrings in overnight while they were on my nightstand. I learned the hard way if I just laid them on the nightstand my cat used them for his own version of miniature golf. Fortunately for me I discovered the other pieces before the trash can was emptied and I lost them permanently but I didn’t want to press my luck. I’m one of those people who is always running late and I have to lay EVERYTHING out for the next day so I really needed to get something to secure my jewelry. I found this container and when I looked at the dimensions it seemed as though it would be the perfect size. The picture on Amazon was extremely cute and the price was more than reasonable so of course I figured that it would probably be a light weight piece of garbage. I was never so happily surprised to be quite wrong! It’s an adorable, sturdy little jewelry holder. It’s heavy enough that the cat is not going to be able to tip it over, shot put it or do any of those other things cats dream up when they’re bored. It is hinged, opens on the top and is lined with some type of red fabric (sorry if it’s not flannel, silk or cashmere I can’t identify it). The outside of the holder is done in an antique silver finish and all in all I think it’s quite nice and definitely worth the purchase price. Valentine’s Day has come and gone but it would always make for a nice, unique holder for a small jewelry gift for birthdays, Mother’s Day or just because. It's heavy and looks just like the picture. It's a bright 24K gold color. I wanted a small box for medications/supplements to keep on a table in the living room. This looks better than the usual plastic boxes. I dropped it. from 2 ft., on wooden floor, and it didn't break. Read more

I really liked this, but it doesn't have a latch/locking mechanism. If you knock it over the lid flies open. I have butterfingers and would inevitably drop this on the ground or knock it over and I was concerned about losing any jewelry within it. It's very pretty but not optimal for someone clumsy like me, so I had to return it. Read more
