Great heater

I got the 50W for my 7.5 gallon tank. I’ve never had a problem with this heater. It’s always heated my water to my desired temperature. The only thing I would suggest is to monitor your water temperature within the first couple hours of introducing the heater as it needs some time to adjust. Read more

Keeps things warm

WalterFebruary 3, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Works as expected. I use it for my chickens. I have their water in a 5 gallon bucket with those little orange nipple valves installed on all sides. I have this thing cranked up to 90 degrees and amazingly it keeps the water and the valves from freezing even when the temp dropped down to -9 degrees F. outside. So the chickens can get to their water on days when a water bowl freezes solid inside of a couple hours. Read more

Heater thermometer is inaccurate

CozFebruary 7, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I brought the 100 watt version The heater works fine, however the internal thermometer is inaccurate. I have a separate Thermometer in my aquarium. When I set the heater to 78 F. The separate thermometer was reading 70 F. However the room was very cold. So I assumed it was struggling maintaining temperature. So I added a small 50 watt heater from tetra which was set to 78 automatically. The temperature went from 70 F To 74F. I decided to raise the temperature on the hiptop heater and now it holding to 77F. Which is fine for my needs. Read more

Good heater

For smaller tanks this has been an amazingly reliable heater, doesn't look bad has been durable, very easy to use as a plug and play and does not take up a ton of room in my 10 gallon tank Read more

Works, but barely.

Holley BellJanuary 6, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Technically it works but certainly not well. I’ve had to turn this heater more than 6 degrees (f) higher than listed. Water temp does not stay stable. I’ve been using two different thermometers to measure temp fluctuations. Will probably have to buy a different heater before I add a betta to my tank. Can’t recommend this one. Read more

Pretty good for the price, not very accurate though.

HaileyFebruary 14, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Waits till my water is 5 degrees too cold to actually start heating. I have to set it to 82 degrees to get it to heat to 78 degrees. Not accurate, not the best, but really it’s worth the price since it is a really cheap heater, and it hasn’t boiled my fish. Don’t buy it if you’re particular about the temperature though. The suction cups are great. Really hard to get off once you stick it to the glass, so I haven’t had any issues with it unsticking itself. Kinda big for the wattage, but doesn’t take up too much space in my ten gallon. Easy to set once you figure out how much your heater is off. Easy enough to hide behind your plants for a good look.
