HLO Lighting Set of 25 Red C9 Faceted LED Christmas Light Bulbs for Indoor Outdoor Use Durable Replacement

I make a big deal out of Christmas lights. I used C-9 incandescent bulbs for years and every year putting them up and taking them down I’d break a dozen or so bulbs. Every year I also had a few bulbs burn out and they were always the ones up on the roof. Then of course I got dirty looks from neighbors who didn’t like my using incandescent bulbs. I broke down and bought several hundred warm white C-9 bulbs for my two houses as well as my mother’s house. I’ve yet to break or burn out a bulb. The other positive is that I’ve not tripped a circuit breaker. I find these bulbs to be quite bright and cool — even after having them on for six hours! It will take several years before I recover the cost of the lights through saving on my electrical bill and I’m okay with that. I have been buying HLO lights for all my outdoor christmas projects exclusively for about 5 years now. On my main strand for the house (about 300 bulbs), I've lost maby 4 bulbs in the last 5 years. Only one of those physically broke where the outer case shattered but it still lit up. (Replaced it anyway and no idea how it broke, I've dropped strands off the roof onto the concrete patio without issue). The biggest selling point to me with these was the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). She is a purist and we went through many brands and styles of LED bulbs until we found something that matched the vibrance and intensity of traditional incandecent bulbs. Same goes for their color bulbs which look amazing. These were spot on a perfect replacement for the stock C9 bulbs I had in a really old display I recently picked up. These are just what I was looking for!! I love the cost-savings of LED bulbs, as well as the ability to string a nearly endless number of strands together without overloading the wiring or the circuit, but I have always hated the "bright white" or "bluish" look that you get from most white LED bulbs. Well, I'm happy to report that these LED's put off almost the exact same color of the clear C9 incandescent bulbs that they replaced!! They aren't quite as bright, but that's because they have an opaque housing compared to the clear glass on my previous bulbs, but they are still plenty light and look great on the house. Oh, and one more thing - they are BULLETPROOF! One of the things I hated most about the glass C9 bulbs is that I would inevitably break at least a dozen or so every time I put them up and took them down. They are so fragile that if I so much as bump them against something or let them touch the ground they shatter. Well, no more broken bulbs with these babies! I had to swap one out on my roof after putting them up (only 1 out of 225 that I ordered was defective), and while I was making my way to the bulb on the roof the new bulb slipped out of my hand and rolled down the roof, fell 12 feet onto the concrete below, bounced 2-3 times, and when I got down and picked it up there wasn't even a scratch on it and it still worked! WOW!! The money and time savings alone in replacing burnt out or broken incandescent bulbs will pay for these LED's in no time. Best Christmas light purchase in a long time! Read more

I ordered over 200 of these lightbulbs in the sun, warm color. They all arrived, unbroken and well packaged. I even dropped a box from my roof and all the bulbs still worked and there was no brakes. Every single bulb worked without issue. The sun warm color is a nice color, more of a soft white, not too cool and not too yellow. As for the longevity of the bulbs, I cannot say since I just install them I am not anticipating any issues so far. I did purchase these while they were on sale. My only issue is that the price I think is a bit high. Luckily, I was able to get them for approximately one dollar per bulb any higher than that I don’t feel is a good value, but again this is only my opinion. Read more

I’m not finding LED last any longer than regular bulbs otherwise it’s a great product. I use them to replace an entire prior strand of incandescent lights of course you can’t mix them and they can only be connected to other LED lights, of course. Read more
