Slightly frustrating
This set is definitely for adults. Had to open multiple bags just to get past a few pages. One piece you might need would be in a different bag. Alot of pieces looked similar so you really had to pay attention to what you were using. Some pieces would not fit when it came to attaching small green flower sections to the main brown stem. I made it work just by finding somewhere else to put it. Pieces would fall off easily. When I was finished it still looked fine. Just a frustrating set to put together. So if you like a challenge this would be perfect. I have a different set by the same brand and had no issues with it. Read more
Beautiful Sakura Bonsai
It looks very pretty next to my other Lego botanicals. I did have some difficulty in getting the base of the trunk to not break off. The tree is top heavy and the base of the trunk kept separating from the planter. The design is missing a longer inside peg at that point. The short peg isn’t doing much of anything. I slightly modified the trunk design and while it still wobbles a little, at least it isn’t falling apart anymore. The plastic bricks are slightly harder and less flexible than Lego so my fingers end up hurting more with these off brand kits, but they are more affordable so you can buy more. Also, Lego is slow to come up with new designs so these are great alternatives to grow the collection. Read more
