If you want to walk on a cloud and help your planters facetious at the same time

CustomerAugust 23, 2025✓ Verified purchase

If I had to describe the Hoka Bondi 9 in one phrase, it would be: “like walking on a cloud.” From the moment you slip them on, you realize these aren’t your average running or walking shoes—they’re built for comfort, shock absorption, and all-day support. Cushioning & Comfort The Bondi 9 is one of the most cushioned shoes in Hoka’s lineup, and it shows. The plush EVA midsole feels incredibly soft underfoot, while still being responsive enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into marshmallows. Whether you’re standing for hours, walking long distances, or just need something forgiving on hard surfaces, the Bondi 9 delivers. The rolling rocker design also helps with smooth transitions, reducing strain on your feet and calves. For Plantar Fasciitis & Foot Pain If you suffer from plantar fasciitis, sore heels, or chronic foot pain, this is absolutely a shoe worth considering. The thick cushioning and arch support take the pressure off sensitive areas, letting your feet relax and recover instead of fighting against flat, unsupportive shoes. Many reviewers (myself included) find that the Bondi 9 makes a noticeable difference in reducing heel pain after long days. It’s one of those shoes where you can feel the relief almost immediately. Fit & Design The fit runs true to size for most, with a roomy toe box that lets your toes spread naturally. The engineered mesh upper is breathable yet structured, so your foot feels stable without being locked in too tightly. Hoka has also slimmed down the look compared to older Bondi models—it’s still a chunky shoe, but the design feels more modern and streamlined. The outsole has been improved for durability, so it handles both daily wear and long walks without wearing down too quickly. Performance While marketed as a max-cushion running shoe, I’d argue it shines just as much as a daily walker or work shoe. Nurses, teachers, warehouse staff, or anyone who spends hours on their feet will get their money’s worth here. For running, it’s not the fastest shoe—it’s more about comfort than speed—but for long, steady miles, recovery runs, or simply protecting your joints, it’s hard to beat. Pros Feels like walking on a cloud Incredible cushioning for all-day comfort Great for plantar fasciitis, heel pain, and joint relief Breathable, supportive mesh upper Smooth rocker design reduces fatigue Durable outsole built to last Cons Bulky compared to minimalist shoes Not the most responsive if you want speed or agility Premium price tag Final Verdict The Hoka Bondi 9 is a game-changer if you’re looking for maximum comfort and support. Whether you’re battling plantar fasciitis, logging long hours at work, or simply want the softest, most forgiving ride available, this shoe delivers. It may not win style points with everyone, and it’s not built for sprinting, but when it comes to protecting your feet and joints, it’s one of the best shoes on the market today. Bottom line: If comfort and pain relief are your priorities, the Bondi 9 is worth every penny. Read more

These shoes are so comfortable and light. I feel like I am walking on a cloud every time I slip them on. I have a wide foot and they fit perfectly, seem very will made and durable. I have tons of support when wearing them. The all-black makes them easy to match anything I am wearing. Read more

The Best Sneaker I've ever Worn in my 76 Years

GradyPhilpottNovember 15, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Hokas are very popular in my city and I see them everywhere. I've heard good things about their fit and comfort, but I never researched them because all the one's I've seen are in obnoxious colors with the logo in a contrasting color, which is not my style. So, a few days ago when a pair showed up in my Amazon feed that had black upper with a black sole and a black logo, I thought it was time to give them a shot. I admit that they are a bit pricey and I don't generally spring for expensive sneakers, but the feedback from others was convincing enough for me to buy a pair. They came in this afternoon and I immediately went for a brisk, half-mile walk through the neighborhood and I was quite amazed at how comfortable they are and how they literally put a "spring" in my step, making the walk easier and more enjoyable than I would have imagined. The upper is made of cotton, which by its very nature is a breathable fabric. The support and cushioning is peerless in my experience. It's a bit too early to judge other variables, but I have no reason not to believe that these shoes are top-notch across the board. I highly recommend these shoes. Read more

MaxFebruary 12, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Absolutely fantastic shoes. Very comfortable very supportive. I did not ask for a better pair of walking and light athletic shoes. These are recommended by my podiatrist with some more thoughts and they have been amazing. If you have foot pain or trouble I would highly recommend these or if you just want something comfortable to walk in Read more

I'm slowly becoming a fan.

Lou S.February 17, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Everyone seems to be wearing this brand. 'Hoka' is ubiquitous. I have always bristled at the notion of paying over a hundred dollars for 'Sneakers'. I know I'm dating myself by using that term, but 'Hoka' has transcended age exclusive footwear. My brother and Sister-in-law, who are well into their 80's, are wearing them, and loving them. I had to put my old monetary prejudices aside, and try these 'Bondi 9' by 'Hoka' shoes/sneakers. It took some time for me to adapt to the feel of this shoe. The sole has a softer, more spongy feel than anything I've ever worn. The fit is snug, but comfortable. The 'Bondi 9' is the softest in the 'Hoka' line of shoes., with a feeling of 'floating' They also make a walking shoe called the "Clifton 10" which is a little less spongy, and for me, feels more agile. An orthopedic surgeon once told me that I have a "Boatload of arthritis" in my feet, and that surgery would help. I've been avoiding surgery for many years with the hope that staying fit and mobile will get me to the finish line without taking drastic action. Wearing good comfortable shoes, rotating shoes daily, and moving as vigorously as you can does work. These shoes seem to be helping, so much so, that I have invested in some 'Clifton 10' shoes as well. Read more
