The product works as advertised. You'll connect a series of plastic rod extentensions until you reach the desired length. It will blean the dryer vent. In my specific case, two of the plastic rods twisted and broke (separated) while using it. Luckly close to the drill side so I didn't have to fish the other piece inside the dryer vent tube. This is because I was trying to go through 2-3 tight 90 deg bends. The rods are not that flexible and the force required to bend them through the bends might be to much. So, I wouldn't recommend it if you have to go through more than 2 bends. Read more

Acquired this for the vent in my primary residence that was previously owned by three other families. What did I learn while using this in a tight working space (condenser on the left and right, hedge bush in front of it). 1. Attach one extension at a a time, route it forward, withdraw it and allow debris to be removed. Then add the next as needed. 2. Have two pairs of pliers - when you have to add another extension, the end component that goes into the drill is impossible to remove by hand. I think this is by design 3. When finished, each extension will also require two pairs of pliers to loosen the connection between the two parts. 4. Ensure your vent cover is also manually cleaned (by hand/brushes, air compressor) 5. Ensure you have silicone on hand to provide an outer seal and to keep the critters out! QUALITY: Solid FIT: this fit both the vent and the drill FUNCTION: I used the larger/wider brush and the brush, rods/extensions and the 1/4 inch drill adapter functioned well. The extensions have plenty of bend/give to them. VALUE: clogged vents are a known fire hazard. Works very well. I had not cleaned my vent in a few years and I noticed my dryer was not working as well as it should. Purchased this and spent a bit of time cleaning my vent. My dryer is upstairs and vents straight to the roof so I could only work on it from inside. I took the advice of others and taped the joins as a precaution, tho I don't think it was necessary. Just remember not to reverse your drill as you pull it back out. The pieces do tighten themselves as you run it, so I did need pliers to undo them, but that was not hard. The picture shows the pile of lint after just using three sections up the pipe. All told, I used 9 pieces and got quite a bit more, mostly from the bottom and the very top. Note: This is my first time cleaning out my dryer vents, and I've lived at my current place for over 10 years. I think there should be a disclaimer stating that this product won't work for everyone. If you haven't cleaned out your dryer vents in a REALLY LONG time and you recently ran your dryer, I would suggest just going down to the crawlspace, and cleaning out the vents manually, if possible. I tried this product and realized 1) it was difficult getting this item through 90 degree vent elbows 2) there was too much lint in the pipes, some of it still wet, and this product just made it clump up and clog the pipes even more 3) the more rods you attach, the harder it becomes to turn using the drill (which led me to force it too hard and eventually break the rod). This was when I was had like 9 rods attached in the vents and yeah I freaked out for a bit but then decided to man up and go down to the crawlspace and clean the pipes out by hand. Sure it required a bit more work but I ended up finding SO MUCH more lint in there that this product would not have been able to remove it all. Read more

GREAT little gadget. My husband would clean our dryer vent with a length of twine, a rag and tennis ball - NO MORE! This device works so well and is easy to use.
