You download the app, create an account, and set up your profile. You can also create multiple profiles, which is great for tracking if you have multiple family members wanting to utilize this scale. The scale has an amazing larger display screen. It does come with batteries already. Make sure to pull the plastic arrow tab out of the battery slot before using. My husband has a size 11.5 foot size, yet still has about .5 inches left of foot space, which is typically not the average scale length. This scale is 12 inches rather than roughly 11.7. This scale came with instructions that makes it fairly easy to set up on the app. This is a great scale at an affordable price to monitor your weight loss journey, or simply to check your weight. This scale is phenomenal! It is spot on accurate (I compared my weight on my old scale to this scale and it matched within an ounce.) I love the app, it syncs the data to my iphone and I can see what my fat% is and my bmi and alot more things I need to learn more about. It has a sleek, clean design. It looks very fashionable in the bathroom. The display screen is large, and you can easily read the information even without wearing glasses. What I like most about this body scale is that it can directly show your weight, BMI, body fat, body water, muscle mass and protein on the display - without always having to open the application. But if your phone is nearby, the application will present all the indicators in a clear, easy-to-read and well-organized form. I ordered this because my old weight scale is cracked and barely functional at this point. I needed a replacement, and a smart replacement that tracks weight over time sounds pretty darn cool! So I got it. It came with the batteries installed, so that was nice. App was easy to setup and sync on my android phone using Bluetooth. No problems there. I made a profile for me, and tested it. Cool. Lots of feedback. I like it. However, I don't live alone. I have a husband, 2 kids, and 4 cats. No, I don't typically weigh my cats, but they have sometimes sat on the old scale and triggered the weighing process. I set up a profile for them, and I ask my 9yo to stand on the scale to see what will happen since I'm wondering how it decides which profile the measurement goes to. It goes to the last selected, which was my husband, and I cannot find any way to either delete or move the measurement mistakenly recorded under his profile. I checked their guide and help sections. I selected all kinds of things. If there's a way to correct this, I can't find it. This means that I have to either tuck the scale away in between uses and make sure to have the right profile selected before use, or I have to deal with lots of errors that cannot be corrected in the weight history of whoever was last selected.
