I have owned a few different air cleaner products over the years and have not really been thrilled with any of them. We have three dogs (two that shed a lot) and we recently moved and are now closer to a major freeway. To say that dust and dog dander were a problem is an understatement. After a bunch of research I came across the Homedics devices and decided to order one to try it. In the end, I am now the proud owner of three of them. I started with the one and put it in my bedroom where I could really track and manage how dusty it would get before and after using it. Within about ten days of running it at various speeds and on auto mode at night, there is a noticeable reduction in dust and airborne particles. I have certain areas where the dust build up happens quickly and on noticeable surfaces - it was about cut in half already - largely in automatic mode - and I think if I kept it on full strength during the day it would do even more. The other thing to note is how easier they are to operate. You can put it into a set-it and forget it kind of thing - or use the remote to adjust fan speed, etc. throughout the day if you want. It's also very quiet in the low or auto mode - and we sleep with it on. There's a little bit of white noise quality to it that actually is better than the hum of the freeway. Given I'm in a dusty/dog filled area I'll see how long the filters go before changing, but I can report that so far these are doing the job intended and they are affordable and I highly recommend. I already had one that I was in love with and wanted to get a few more for the house so I ordered two more from Amazon. The previous one I’ve had for about three years and the two now that I’ve purchased from Amazon, I’ve had a year and I can’t say there are any complaints they work wonderfully. I even have a small version. I have bad hayfever and allergies they help with reducing them compared to some of the other people that I know who I associate that experience, the seasons, hayfever and allergies differently than me. I also enjoy being able to add the aroma therapy to them, which fills the house with fragrance even if only one is going at the time however, the ones in my bedroom go 24 seven and I have not had any problems with them. As far as mobility, they are rather large the smaller one is easy to move from place to place appearance. They’re white and people rarely noticed them or at least they don’t But they do. Their sound is quiet went on low on high has more of a fan sound and if you have to change the UB light it’s fairly easy. It’s just taking off the back and snapping the light in and out, and the filters are easy to change. Read more

Glad I purchased. Each year I would get respiratory issues from allergens in the air. My son suggested the air purifier. I did not think it would make a difference. He allowed me to use his when he came for a visit. After noticing the difference, it made in my breathing and health I have since purchased three to place throughout my home. I would highly recommend it for air cleanliness, better quality of breathing, sleeping and living. We use 24 hours a day especially during the pollen season. This is the third Homedics air purifier we’ve purchased for our home. We have them in our bedrooms and just got the extra large to replace the large one in our main living area. We have 3 dogs, and 3 cats. We have a cat tree in the living room with a hidden litter box hutch built in and people can’t believe there’s a litter box nearby. WE can’t believe we’re actually keeping a litter box in the living room and not the basement anymore. It does a seriously amazing job at eliminating odors and staleness. You would swear the windows were open. My husband is ALLERGIC to cats and hasn’t had to pop any allergy meds since we made our first purchase. A friend of mine who is severely allergic to cats can last hours in my house. Granted we do keep things very clean as well. Another thing I’ve noticed is the sensitivity of the particle sensor - I can be frying bacon in the kitchen and when the purifier is set to “auto” the light goes yellow or red as the fan kicks onto the higher setting. Another plus, if you’re candle people like us - no more soot buildup on your walls from open flames. It will need a wipe regularly if you do burn candles often as the soot will build up on the purifier rather than your walls. And again, the particle sensor kicks right on as soon as you blow out a candle and that extra smoke hits the air. I would recommend this machine to anyone all day long. Read more
