Great clock. After having a Homedics clock for 15 years, the projector light finally gave out. I searched for a new one and came across the newer model. This one has a digital display for the radio vs my previous one, rotating the channel for radio. This one looks more modern and I actually like it. It does its job. Only thing is that the projector light is bright. But I will find a way to dim it with something. Got it for that reason but this light is bright. Radio signal is good too. Haven't tried the alarm but the sounds I love. Time setting was easy. It's also not too heavy. Easy to use. Projector light on and off is located on the bottom back of the clock. You can also dim the clock light or turn it off completely. I couldn't do that with my previous one. I had to use a cloth to cover the time since I had the time projected on the ceiling. I had a Phillips sound machine for 15+ years that was an insomniac dream. I have several devices that are adequate. This one is almost as good as the one that finally died. I have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. I ruminate, and I hear EVERY LITTLE SOUND that can wake you up. Pros: you can dim the display to very dark. (Light is the enemy). It is easy to set time, alarm. Relatively small footprint. Cons: if you adjust anything, dim lighting disappears. So then you are in the dark, annoying your husband, to get the setting you thought you had. More of a problem than you would think. After many weeks, I am upgrading my review to 5 stars. I added tape to the sound button to that I could locate it in the dark. Learned that I had to set the brightness to dark BEFORE I set alarm, all is good. Leaned that I could hit the volume to turn off the alarm. Still not quite a 5, but a 4.8. And definitely better than anything else on the market, I am purchasing another for our vacation home. I love this projector clock so much. I took off one star because the projector is too bright at night. It allows you to dim the clock face from high to medium to low or off completely. I don’t understand why they did not do the same thing for the projector portion. I love the sound machine because it consolidates my clock and sound machine into one product. It makes various sounds but if you’re only looking for white noise, you won’t even bother with the rest of the options although they are pleasant sounds. I’ve been on the hunt for a noise machine for my insomniac mom and this is it!! The projection is clear, the buttons work well and it feels well made and the instructions are clear. You can play the sounds all night or set a timer and the sounds are so clear, crisp, and realistic. This has an actual alarm sound(beeping) to wake you up with an increasing volume and the screen has brightness levels as well. It’s everything we’ve been looking for. Also has a backup battery so if the power goes out it will still work as long as your power is back on when your alarm is set. Disclaimer the alarm will not sound if the power is out at the time your alarm is set to go off and will not sound once turned back on if the alarm window has passed while the power was off. But when the power turns back on the time is still correct and the alarms are still set. Read more

My previous clock radio was also a Homedics and I LOVED it....was so sorry when it died!! I thought this clock radio checked my 4 most desired boxes (dual alarm, easy DST change, pleasant alarm sounds, and battery backup, altho battery backup was not mentioned in the description). I returned the clock, because the "soothing blue" backlight on the clock face, even on it's dimmest setting is still blinding....enough so that it was hard to even see the smaller alarm setting numbers. The "soothing blue" projection light was so very bright, both on the top of the radio and on the ceiling, that it lit up my whole bedroom. Neither light was restful!! The "relaxing nature sounds" all sound pretty much like "static sounds." Not clear, distinctive sounds, and not at all pleasant or relaxing for going to sleep or for waking up. These things are junk you can't even see the time on the face of the machine because the back light is so bright even when you turn down the brightness too low. Functions are very hard to use, you push the buttons and nothing happens, the projection light is backwards unless you put the machine behind you and shine it on the wall in front of you. Read more
