This iron gets up to temperature fast. Very easy to use & comfortable weight in the hand. The swivel cord works better than any I have EVER had allowing you to move in any way necessary as you style. Love the shiny curls, it leaves my hair very healthy looking=) The box was in perfect condition when I opened the package. I noticed that they included 2 extra springs as that is usually the first thing to go on any iron. I LOVE that they've included 2, that tells me that they stand behind the quality of their products & fully expect this iron will last for a very long time. I typically have to replace springs in 4-5 years, that said I wouldn't be surprised if this iron lasts me for 10! From the time I was little I can remember my grandmother styling her hair with a curling iron from Helen of Troy & my very first curling iron was that brand. Their products were top notch & her hairdresser highly recommended them. I never really knew what happened but the brand seemed to disappear. I noticed on the outside of the box it said HOT TOOLS by Helen Of Troy!!!! It's a miracle, so happy to know I have a quality product for a reasonable price. Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is an awesome iron. I had to find a replacement for mine, as they don't seem to last very long about 2 years. It's a shame, as I do like it a lot. I like the ceramic coating it has since the last one I got didn't have it, and I burned my hair with that one. I'm now going to stick with ceramic only. I do love the dial feature; the ability to adjust the temperature is great. Read more
I first bought this curler in Canada at a Winners a decade ago. For years it's been a constant in my hair routine, and I've really come to learn how to use it to its strengths. It's smooth ceramic length is fantastic for sliding along your curl and making sure all segments of your hair feels the right amount of heat. I've found this doesn't happen as smoothly with other curlers - my hair will get caught or snap when I'm trying to move it down the length of the curler. The temperature control is a nice feature but I've always left it around 380 - it's my sweet spot. It heats up quick and cools down fast too. It's slim and super easy to travel with. I can't say enough good things about this curler. My first curler ended up failing on me randomly, it just failed to heat up one day right before I moved to the US, so one of the first things I did when I moved was to track this product down and order another one. Ten years of life is amazing for a hair product!! And this is better value than most of those other overpriced hair tools out there. Read more
Updating this review (as of 7/14) and lowering my rating from 4 atars to 1 star. I mentioned in original review that it did not get as hot as it should but then, the clamp started becoming loose and would not hold my hair. Now the power is flickering on and off constantly while curling my hair when Im twisting the iron… with only residual heat, it will not curl. I spent a long time attempting to get beach waves this weekend to no avail. I bought this iron in March 2025 and now its July 2025 and it is going in the trash! This company really should quit trying to cheaply manufacturer their products and get back to making Quality products or they won’t have a business. Original review: I had this exact curling iron when I was a hairstylist for 15 yrs and loved it. It recently broke so i ordered a replacement. Its still a very good curling iron but does not get as hot as the original one I had. I have the heat turned all the way up and it still doesn't heat enough to stay curled. Not sure if I just got a lemon but I'm disappointed in the quality this time. Still giving it 4 stars because it is easy to use, the perfect size, but i just wish it got as hot as the temperature states it is. Read more
I’ve been curling my hair daily for years. This iron didn’t last half as long as my Amazon brand $25 xl barrel I had for years. After about 1.5 years, this hot tools curler started to have an unstable connection and would flicker on and off while plugged in and turned on. It also squeaks and got my hair caught in the hinge frequently. Finally it caught on fire during a vacation (lol) and I will be going back to Amazon brand because this is not worth the money IMO. Curled well but nothing extraordinary! I have thick hair and couldn’t do very large sections. Read more
