This is a great kit with different sizes of caps. The tool included made it very easy to remove the left over broken core without damaging the shoe. The color is more tan than the beige that I expected but for this pair of shoes it still works. It's built sturdy, nice tool. The tacks are great too but I can't get the old ones out of the old shoes no matter what I do!! It's insanely difficult. I'd love to know what kind if glue they use. Unfortunately that's all I can tell you since my efforts were unsuccessful. Read more

I was able to put new tips on a few sets of shoes from this one set. They are cheap plastic and won’t probably last that long, but to get another year out of a few pairs of plastic stilettos from Target? Absolutely. For my leather designer pumps…I’ll go to a cobbler and get better quality tips that will last longer. Storing all the extras might be annoying. You can fix your shoes, your moms shoes, your sisters shoes, your neighbors shoes, etc with all the sets. They don’t come sorted, so you have to set them all up and find the matching ones — be careful, there’s very little difference in size to size. I put them in a pill box by size afterwards cuz I wouldn’t want to re-sort them all the next time. It’s best if you remove the worn tips before they get down to the metal pin. The tool works, but if there’s not much plastic/rubber left on the old tip (or if the tip was GLUED IN) it could end up breaking the pin off. I had to drill out a pin and that’s VERY TEDIOUS and hard work (lol I should’ve just taken them to a cobbler by then, but I was determined to finish the job I started). Much better to not wear the tips out so badly and replace sooner, so they’re easier to pull out. Depends on the shoe too. Some popped out and in easy peasy and some were really tough. Read more
